great atmosphere, ciders are the best in tassie, this is a must taste place, great music, family friendly, will be back! There is a museum of sorts, just what the Huon valley should be about, well done to the owners! We have friends local to Huon, and they are regulars. Apparently, they have a festival in winter that's not to be missed, good prices, didn't eat there but wish we had! Support the locals, all they need is accomadation and will be the icing on the cake! ✌️

We stopped here for lunch the other day and to try a sampling of different ciders. This place is awesome. Inside is decorated with heaps of apple crates and you can also go in and enjoy the history the small museum has to offer. Meals are fresh and yummy and you can enjoy a cider or two of your choice. Great atmosphere and a must do stop if in Tasmania.

From the road you would never realise how lovely this place is. Stop in for a coffee, lunch and a cider.

Great use of Apple orchard and cases and pallets outside, very upmarket inside with both decor and food.

Had lunch here today and was really impressed by the service and the quality of the food offered. While I had the 'scant plate' with salmon, potato, capers, egg and salad (delicious), my wife had a 'special' bean salad which was also beautiful.

Amazing venue, museum, cider and sangria. Wanted to go for lunch and was slightly disappointed that there was a very limited menu only including light snacks.

Judy from Eyesee Personalised tours escorted us to the cidery as part of our trip around the Huon Valley. Loved the tasting paddle of the cider varieties. Great way to try out the product. It's a fantastic set up, would be a fabulous place for a relaxing lunch. Definitely a great wedding or function venue too!

Just a short drive from Hobart, what a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy some cold cider (served at 8 degrees, no ice, is the suggestion) on a perfect hot summer's day. The cider is deliciousness to an extreme, love the original one and now the new Perry. The staff are amazingly friendly, I loved the casual "What's happenin'? '" greeting. The shed is perfectly presented, just the right amount of rustic charm. The lunch was very good and complimented the cider (and the sangria). The apple pie was disappointing (apple slices were uncooked and tasteless although the pastry was good) and I suspect that was not homemade icecream. I am still giving this five stars though. Gorgeous website by the way, well done!

The place looks great , but some staff interaction to explain about the ciders and history would have made it a more enjoyable experience. Felt more like a city bar than a tourist spot.

I recently visited here with a friend and the place is fantastic. The service is really friendly, the building is really well laid out and it perfectly suits the area. I had visited here when it was still an Apple Museum and, while the change is huge, there is still something about the former museum's character which remains which is really nice. In terms of the cider, I definitely recommend it and I am not even a huge cider fan. They had great varieties and I end up walking away with a 2l bottle which was quite reasonably price. This place should be visited by everyone heading to this part of Tasmania.

Based on recommendations from friends we called in around lunchtime. We really enjoyed the cider tasting (4 ciders, approximately 2 standard drinks) - hard to pick a favourite. We had some lunch which used excellent local produce simply and effectively. There were plenty of excellent local non-alcholic drink options too (apple juice, ginger beer). The indoor and outdoor setting is evocative of the historic apple industry and the museum adds to the experience.

This is a special place to visit. The apple orchard was first planted out in the 1800's. Many years later the family went to organic farming and changed the identity of the business. Why don't you read about it on their web site... www.williesmiths.com.au. They now have a cellar door and cafe which has stayed true to the history of the apple shed. The use of Apple crates as tables and old tractor seats as stools is clever and adds to the rustic feel. I'm not sure what the summer months will be like at Willie Smiths as the locals have already flocked in to support this venture, I'm pretty sure that it'll be standing room only! Try their samples (pretty big) of different ciders, have a regional platter or if cider isn't for you, then enjoy a regional wine. For a gold coin you can tour the small but interesting museum. Best of all get a local to tell you some of the family anecdotes...You'll certainly relax.
