We went diving with Forster Dive in the local area. We wanted to see some Grey Nurse Sharks so Nick took us for our first dive to The Barge, a small wreck not far off the entrance to Wallis Lake. He certainly picked the right spot. There were around 12 big sharks cruising around the Barge. They came up really close and didn't seem at all perturbed about our presence. There were lots of wobbegongs as well. Unfortunately the red weed was settled on the bottom which did make it difficult to get some decent shots. It was sad when the time was up and we had to return to the surface. We had a great surface interval with a choice of tea, coffee or soup served with sweet and savoury biscuits and of course the jelly lollies as recovery food. Our second dive was at Latitude Wall. Again unfortunately the red weed was there but there was so much to see from beautiful multi-coloured sea tulips, nudibranchs and lots of very active moray eels as well as an abundance of fishes.Nick is a very professional dive operator who has a passion for conservation and respecting dive sites for future generations. His dive master Robert is extremely knowledgeable of local dive sites, making sure you see all the highlights. He also has lots of fun and interesting stories to tell.Thankyou Nick and we will be back.

We went for kayaking with Aussie boatshed which looks to be the same company as Forster Dive Centre. Friendliest, most helpful and laid back people I've encountered; exactly what you need when on holiday. We weren't looking for a scuba dive this time, but we'll be back here for a dive.We rented kayaks: 4 doubles for the 8 of us. They gave us instructions, recommended on a map where to go for the best experience, and had us off in no time. We hired for an hour an returned 15 minutes late - no worries. Also took some photos of us as we set off with my camera and looked after our valuables while we were gone.Great bunch of people, highly recommended

My expectations were quite high on this trip seeing as I had such a horrible experience with the arch-nemesis "Dive Forster" the last time I was in the area. I had been speaking with Nick a few times before meeting him and he comes across as very knowledgeable, confident and extremely friendly.Very easy to find with plenty of parking on the street, the dive shop is fully equipped with great looking gear and a great looking boat. There was heaps of room on the boat even with everyones gear set up and stowed. There was no rush and Nick made sure everyone had what they needed and we were off! Please note that these were local dives and not at Seal Rocks. The first dive was ordinary but on the surface we were tailed by a pod of dolphins and had a few full breaches from the humpbacks on their way back to the antarctic.(or maybe they thought they were already there as the water temp certainly felt like it!). Nick admitted that the site was certainly not up to its potential that day but when it goes off it goes off.Second dive was great. Massive schools of fish...I mean massive! I haven't seen a school that big since diving Steves Bommie with Mike Ball. You have to beat the fish out of the way to see in front of you. Sure enough after descending through the clouds of fish I was startled by almost crashing into a couple of massive wobbies and a PJ. Some lionfish and about a dozen or so silver morays, only small. The surface interval between dives was great with soups, coffees, teas, biscuits and lollies...and the occasional bucketload of hot water down the wetsuit. So back we went into Forster again surrounded by humpbacks and dolphins, sunshine and great company. Nick was a great divemaster and guide but at the same time wasn't bothered if you headed off on your own to explore the sites/sights. After a smooth ride back to the shop, we unloaded the gear and gave everything a washdown. Everything worked like clockwork. So this being an awesome operation and having a great staff and crew, I give Forster Dive Center two very enthusiastic thumbs up and definitely recommend it to all divers. Thanks to Nick. I will see you again when I'm in the area.J
