I have attended quite a few shows now at The Q. This is a great boutique theatre where the audience can really engage with the cast on stage. There are no 'bad' seats in the house, whether it is a play, musical or concert. The Q has a diverse collection of shows to choose from each year, the hard part is choosing what to see! The foyer is a cozy place to meet before the show and enjoy a drink. Staff are always friendly and the volunteer ushers do a fantastic job too. Queanbeyan is a better place for having The Q.
I love the Q. Always so many choices for performances at reasonable prices. My biggest complaint is that I never have enough time available to see everything! The theatre is intimate and there isn't a bad seat in the house. I attend about 4-5 performances there a year. Nice little bar and friendly atmosphere.
We have been to several events and shows over the last couple of years at this venue. It's a wonderful facility to have in Queanbeyan. The theatre is an intimate setting - you feel so close to the stage. At all times I have found the staff friendly, the theatre clean, wonderful setting.
Queanbeyan hopefully has shed its image of being "struggle town". "The Q " (the arts Centre) is relatively new, well laid out and has comfortable seating. The shows or performances range from the simple to the extravaganza. Staff are helpful. Well worth a look in addition to anything that is 'on' in Canberra, and only 15 minutes form Canberra CBD.
We have been to the Q on many occasions. There isn't a bad seat in the theatre and they have a wide range in the program. The exhibition space is also of interest.
My husband and I are regular attendees at various Canberra theatres and sometimes across the border to the Q. Mike frequently organises groups of our friends to join us. Stephen Pike and his team do a fabulous job bringing excellent programs of theatre, including musical theatre - one of my favourites. I was fortunate to attend another season launch last week. The launches are always great. If you are looking for a venue, the lobby, catering and service is also recommended. There is an art space beside the theatre that is also always worth a look for those visiting. Keep an eye on their program, if you live nearby or happen to be visiting. The Q is a huge improvement on the previous venue and a very welcome improvement for those of us who support live theatre and music.
Good venue with 'hit and miss' theatre experiences (this is part of the appeal, really) you never quite know how good or bad the show will actually be, but it's usually a good night out at very afordable price, usually easy to get a good seat and the foyer/cafe area is very nice. Last show we saw was HAIR and it was excellent!
First class venue. Suitable for local and interstate visitors. Well priced, good parking facilites and close to eateries.
The Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre - known as the "Q" is a wonderful setting for live theatre. There is always a wide range of shows - including musicals - on at the Q. As it is a new facility it is light and bright and there is not a bad seat in the house. Check out the auditorium if you visit. There is almost always a free exhibition on. Parking is free.
This centre is a fantastic place to see live theatre. It shows the latest productions and it is a beautiful theatre. The staff are very proud of it, and they endeavour to make a theatre going experience special. Think outside of the main stream Canberra theatre going experience and take some time out to consider the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre.
The Q is one of the best things to happen to Queanbeyan. It has great productions through the year this year so fare have been to see Let The Sunshine which was brilliant and Mousetrap which was a real coup considering the amateur rights for this play are very rarely given. The Q itself has great facilities and no seat in theatre is a bad seat. The pre order service for interval is a fantastic thing.
live theatre can't be beaten by any other form of entertainment, especially in the comfort of the performing arts centre
This regional theatre is getting a good name for itself for small local and touring theatre and music events.
We are fans of going to the Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre. They put a variety of shows that have always been entertaining. We saw 'Blood Brothers" most recently. We go to as many of their shows as possible. Local and national productions - all excellent.
