A pleasant spot that is still a bit of a work in progress. Has some nice walks, especially along the creek, with other paths through more open areas - without much shade and it was a hot day when we visited. Unfortunately, it was during a very dry time so gardens not looking their best. I suspect it is at its best early in morning or later in afternoon - when the birds are more active too.
Could see that these Gardens are an ongoing happening. It was a lovely walk through the trees, following the path. A new Rose garden, well tended and although the roses aren't named yet, the groundsman told me the labels were all done and ready to go. I just hope they keep the rose beds up to scratch, some of the other areas needed a bit of loving tender care. I was itching to grt in and do some work...but...I was on holiday..Would have liked the job, but then you cant have it all. Enjoy, well done Emerald.
Our botanic gardens are a hidden treasure with several play areas for children and a selection of picnic areas too. You can fish in the river, go for a quick dip or take a walk along the various paths that wind through the gardens. There's a Rose garden, windmill, bush chapel, hedge maze, bbqs and lots of shady trees to laze around under. There are usually quite a few campers under the bridge at the garden which is permissible for only a short period of time but a great stopover for a weary traveller heading further west. Don't visit Emerald without checking out our beautiful gardens! It spreads across both sides of the river and can be accessed by 2 different bridges. It's also a popular spot for weddings and photo shoots.
The Botanic Gardens in Emerald were a fantastic walk along the river with some interesting points of interest along the way, thoroughly enjoyed the experience
The botanical gardens are an excellent place for a picnic, lunch catch up with friends, walks and a rest for the weary travellers. Amenities are well looked after, the grounds are well maintained and the wildlife is everywhere. My partner and I frequent here for lunch or just a place to clear our heads and spend some time together.
This is a great free camp with ameneties close by and shops straight accross the road.My family and i where travelling throughy and pulled over for the night around 10PM. There were lots of grey Nomads around but still had plenty of space for us to slip in for the night. In the morning I walked accross the road to the bakery and got some breaky for the family and fresh coffee. After breaky we took the kids for a lovely walk through the gardens and spent a good hr on the swings and monorail.Great scenery and once a gain great FREE camp for the night.
After a long day travelling, what a beautiful way to unwind, bird life amazing, along with the way it has been laid out,the palm trees are truly amazing, delightful little little ducks, great play ground for family
We had a walk through the botanical gardens which like every else was so very dry and so we did not see it at its best. There is a lovely area set aside as an outdoor chapel which would be lovely for a wedding. The only drawback for me personally was the fact that there was quite a large bat colony so I gave the rainforest walk a miss!
Great areas for family Lots of areas to explore Shelters for picnics Swings ect for kids to enjoyAll free .......zzzz ........................
the Emerald Botanic Gardens are really well maintained and provide an interesting variety of plants/trees. It covers a large area, with a creek running through. I spent a good 3-4 hours here but I literally walked round the WHOLE place and stopped for lunch. I would recommend you take plenty of water and try not to go during the middle (hottest part) of the day as some areas are quite open, with not much shade.
