glenlyon dam tourist park

Spent a couple of nights in a Cabin to do some fishing . Cabin had no ensuite, no hot water fitted and no fans . Most parks I have been to (hundreds) supply cabins with all these items for less then Glenlyon. The office/shop don't have any frozen bait but do stock worms . The powered sites looked to be in average condition and the amenities block was clean.This writer has been to most if not all of the Dams with camping in QLD and would pick any of them over this one

Glenlyon is a good dam to visit if you enjoy fishing. Murray cod, Yellowbelly (Golden Perch), Silver Perch and Catfish can be caught. Currently, it's at approximately 35% capacity and the fish a little hard to come by but it is still a good place to relax. You can camp or caravan on powered or unpowered sites or stay in a cabin. There are full amenities available and prices are reasonable. The boat ramp is inside the park and about 2 minutes drive from campgrounds. Basic supplies are available from the kiosk and Brian & Debbie Dare (the owner/managers) are very helpful.
