Not sure you would drive hours out of your way but we were passing through and it was definitely worth a visit. An amazing house with so much history but also a testimony to the skills of the team more recently who brought it back to life.

I've lived in Qld most of my life but never heard of this homestead. Ended up there by fate on church day out bus trip. Got an AMAZING surprise! One of the most fascinating historical houses I've ever seen with every Hollywood trapping in its story - a boom to bust, bust to dust, almost cursed story of grandeur, plenty, opulence, the. The great australian landscape throwing drought, land redemptions, tragedy, business dealings. Delinquency, and after sixty years as an abandoned haunted place, rising out of ashes through clever restoration and excellent gardens presentation of history and a sexy smart yummy cafe gift shop. I'm almost obsessed at the fascinating story and hope many who read this review will put glengallan on their must do list and support the excellent work of volunteers. Btw it's also a photographers dream - stunning vistas, old with new, light, shade, old iron, balustrades, antique chandeliers woodwork angles. Wow wow wow

Thank you to Sally who took our group of 18 though the Glengallen Homestead. Sally's wealth of knowledge made the tour even more interesting. Lunch was supplied at the cafe on site which consisted of home made food- pumpkin soup, sandwiches then to finish off scones, jam and cream. Thank you to all staff and voltunteers. We will be spreading the word around how great this piece of Australian history is.

If you like History you really need to stop here and check out the amazing story behind the house. If you don't like history you can still drop in for some great scones in the coffee shop run by mostly volunteers.

The work that locals have put into saving a great piece of Australian history is a wonderful to see. The homestead brings a history of the area and Queensland alive. Well worth a visit and enjoy the scones and jam in the visitors’ coffee shop. Great place to call in during your exploration of the Darling Downs.

We heard about this place from brochures at the accomadation we were staying at outside of Warwick. It is an interesting historical home with a rich background. I think it would be of interest to any history buffs out there. Unfortunately we went with our 2 boys (aged 6 and 9) and while they were interested in looking at what times were like from 100 years ago I think it would be more suited to slightly older children. Otherwise worth a visit

Went to the market lots of stalls very friendly smallholders held in the grounds and on the verandah of the historic homestead. Lots of informative signs around the different areas. Very beautiful setting for a nice day out. Lots of local history.

Very informative. Loads of interesting artifacts, memorabilia, pictures, newspaper clippings and you get to wander around at your own speed. Very well laid out presentation and fantastic history lesson. Fully recommend.
