I went there with my 2 sons (14 and 12) and we really enjoyed our lesson. The spot is really great with gentles waves, so perfect for a 1st touch. And the instructors were really nice and dedicated (we were with Anna from Netherlands and she's awsome).We enjoyed a lot !

I had the best time learning to surf! The instructors were so helpful! I would definitely recommend Go Ride A Wave to anyone looking to learn to surf! So worth it!

We all loved our surfing lesson at Go Ride A Wave!! Had an absolute ball, instructor was lovely and made us feel comfortable, answered all our questions, and even thought I couldn't stand up on the surfboard, I had fun riding the waves.

My older sister & I had a fun & friendly three mornings of surf instruction on the safe Anglesea surf beach. Although each day was a little repetetive we got better each day and enjoyed every minute. Will be back to hire a board next time.

My son and his mates had a great time doing the surfing lesson. The groups could have been maybe a little smaller but overall a very good deal for the price. The demonstrators were very friendly and watchful of the kids even when crossing the road. Would recommend as a good introduction to surfing.

The crew at Go Ride A Wave were friendly and helpful, from signing in at the store, to getting instructions on where to meet our instructor. Mark (instructor) was welcoming and laid back but thorough in his teachings and easy to chat to and ask questions. The trip along the river in Anglesea was relaxing and a beautiful spot. I got what I needed from the lesson and have the confidence to hire a SUP to take myself for a paddle ASAP.

We hosted international friends at Anglesea for a few days and a highlight was the surf lesson! We had 5 kids ranging in age from 9 to 14 years and they all had a blast. Go ride a wave is perfect for first timers and those looking to refresh their skills. The long wetsuits that are provided make it a pleasant experience in all conditions.

Professional and friendly and great fun! We had a wonderful time and had all the right equipment and help - we were all first time surfers and all managed to get up vertical on at least one wave! Thank you

We did a lesson with some friends who were visiting from Scotland and Ireland and had great fun. The staff were great in helping us add an extra person at the last minute. The classes were already full but they managed to get some extra staff on so we could all surf! Great way to start the journey down the great ocean road.

I've always wanted to try surfing, and on a short holiday with the family I found my chance. A quick call to the surf shop, and I was confirmed for the next day. The instructor was great, the experience was awesome, and I had a lot of fun. Due to lack of time, I haven been able to surf again, but I think about it most days. Thanks heaps guys!

Thank you to Go Ride A Wave for the awesome first time surfing lesson. The Angelsea front beach was the perfect spot and I feel like I can go surfing with the family now and build on the skills and knowledge given to me. Found it easier to book over the phone as I had a few questions and the staff couldn't be more accommodating to our request. The location of the shop is within walking distance to the beach/river. The shop has change room facilities and lockers to store your belongings. As part of the cost of the hour and half lesson, Wet-suits, PFDs and the SUP board (Gboards which are specifically designed for beginners) are all provided.We were four adults with only one who had any experience in stand up paddling. Our instructor was fantastic. He was very easy going and could easily adapt to the different levels in our group. He took us through the basics of SUP, from how to hold the paddle, through to the different ways you can paddle (knee through to standing). He had us up standing within the first 10 minutes of the lesson. From there we did a lap of the Anglesea River which took us just over an hour and half to complete. This was a great way to learn as we had to pass under a few bridges along the river and had to drop to either a kneeling or lying position to get under the bridge and would then have to get back up to a standing position which was all good practice.I would highly recommend giving it a go. Will definitely go back to try their other activities.Go Ride a Wave is a great way to learn water sports

we (2 adults and a 7 year-old) have never surfed, and decided that we wanted to give it a shot while on holiday in VIC, AUS.After reading some reviews, decided to go with Go Ride a Wave and opted for Anglesea, after reading that it was a beginner friendly beach. From the moment we arrived, we were well taken care of, thoughtfully offered winter-class body suits even though it was Spring already... it was still "Sngaporean cold". Our coach Mark was very friendly and encouraging, and very patient with the boy... with lots of useful tips for us as wellWhile we did not eventually "hang-ten", which would have been a miracle as it was our very first time and we booked a 2 hour session, we still had a great time trying something new. And it really helped that everyone was friendly and accommodating.Certainly would recommend going with Go Ride a Wave!

Admittedly I didn't surf (as I was looking after our little one on the beach) but the two big kids and husband did, and had a ball! We booked in for a 2 hour beginner class. It's cheaper if you book a day in advance, and as it's adds up once there is more than one of you, every little bit counts! I ended up booking on the phone as the online system seemed long winded plus I had questions! Kids and adults go together and you don't need to be super duper swimmers to have a go. I must say first and foremost the staff were fantastic! We were especially lucky to of had an instructor to ourselves as it was midweek and not the warmest of days to pull in the crowds. After changing into wetsuits there was a small amount of instruction on the sand before they headed into the ocean for a go. We are not the most sporty family but love to give things a try and with the help of the instructor both the girls and hubby managed to get up on their boards...more than once! It did get a bit cold but with the enthusiasm and encouragement from the instructor all three had a great time! Our instructor was hugely patient and had a great rapport with the kids. Would thoroughly recommend it. We hope to do more lessons in the future with me included next time!
