Thanks for the kind words John. We are absolutely committed to preserving the heritage value of Baileys and it it most pleasing to read that our efforts do not go unnoticed. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards,The team at Baileys of Glenrowan.
We had a most enjoyable afternoon here. We have been here before on winery walkabouts so knew what to expect and were not disappointed and ordered the mushroom pizzas with grazing platter of local produce. It was a weekday and busy, but sitting in the sun and sipping Bailey's wines is no hardship while waiting. No hesitation in recommending a visit to sample the wines of course, but also making it a leisurely occasion with simple healthy pizzas with a homemade base and gluten free is available. If the weather is cold inside ding is a good option as well.
Hi RnR,Thank you for your kind words and we do take a lot of pride in the preservation of our historic grounds and buildings. We hope to see you again soon. Cheers,Baileys of Glenrowan Management
Hi Michael and Anne, just wanted to pass on a quick thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed the wines and we hope to see you again soon. Baileys of Glenrowan Management
Hi Michelle, thanks for taking the time to post your review and I am sorry you had an unsatisfactory experience when you visited in March. Our cafe operates around our small wood fired oven which can be labour intensive, but we do like to do things as authentically as possible. As such we are always conscious of being able to look after our guests to an appropriately high standard. On busy days we do sometimes have to refuse guests without bookings in order for us to maintain our level of service. We would of course prefer not to refuse any booking, but it is preferable to letting our standards slip. We do recommend (and appreciate) bookings, particularly on busy weekends. Again I am sorry you left with a poor impression of Baileys of Glenrowan and hope that we get an opportunity to amend this at some point in the future. Kind regards,Baileys of Glenrowan Management.
Tucked away in the hills of the warbys, this cellar door is scenic and quaint. Specialising in bold reds and fortified wines, I bought up big with their delicious range. Highly recommend visiting on a weekend when they have yummy wood fired oven pizzas available.
I haven't been here in 30 years, so I did not know what to expect. It still has its rustic charm. There was an open fire going. it it wasn't so cold I would have loved to go for a walk. The reds are really good and the vintage port is still the best in Australia in my opinion.
Any time we pass through the area, we drop by Bailey's to stock up on their superb muscat and tokay, and to have a talk with the friendly staff.
Can't fault the ambience. Lovely wines. But all this niceness evaporated when we were served our salad meal "salad with orange, asparagus and fetta". Just enough green leaves to cover the bowl, one stick of asparagus, two wafer thin slices of orange and a dozen half postage stamp sized slices of fetta that were as thin as the orange slices. Itndid have a nice dressing though. All this for $16. Daylight robbery at this price - but it was Ned Kelly country after all ... Even the lady serving agreed it was "small". My advice is to buy a pie in town then come to the vineyard.
Lovely drive through Kelly country and vineyards to get to the winery. Good wines and great fortifieds and very good reasonably priced food for lunch in garden setting.
After taking our Guests on a shopping tour in Beechworth we travelled to Glenrowan to sample the fine wines at Baileys of Glenrowan. We booked for lunch and enjoyed a very pleasent 3 hours of good food and company. The wood fired pizzas were devine and we choose a delightful salad to accompany them I was especially pleased that they offered gluten free option with their pizza bases. Our guests throughly enjoyed the selection of wines that Baileys offered and were quick to fill in wine club memberships.
