We drove 1/2 an hour to check out this park based on TripAdviser reviews and we were not disappointed. Our 6 y/o girl had a great time playing on the flying fox (so did mum), assorted swings and climbing equipment. She even made a new friend and played games with her quite a bit.The park is spacious with plenty of room for a lot of families. Equipment is of excellent quality. Good bbq facilities and shelter. Toilets easily accessible. Less than a 5 minute walk into the main street for lunch or snacks (or coffee). Plenty of parking available. There is a free tennis court nearby if you want a hit. As said in previous reviews, the hardest part is convincing your child to leave.Worth spending a few hours here.
This is a treat for anyone with kids. A very while designed park with leads of activities for all ages (including the adults). My wife enjoyed the flying Fox while my son and I challenged or acrobatic skills on the rope maze.
Amazing park. Definitely worth stopping if you are passing through (located behind the shops where Target is). Worth making a day of it if you live even remotely close to Woodend. There is a spacious enclosed area for toddlers and a larger non enclosed area for families and older children to enjoy with a large climbing frame, flying fox etc.All the equipment is well maintained and engaging. We didn't make it out of the toddler area on the day we visited and leaving was a challenge!!Next visit we will be planning quite a few hours of fun!
This was a halfway point to meet up with family from Melbourne. Travelling from Bendigo myself only took approx 50 minutes. We had 6 children between us and the equipment here suited all ages, including the adults! Kept us entertained for hours and was left feeling worn out from playing before we had even tried all the equipment. Will definitely making this a more frequent meeting point with our Melbourne family!
Built by locals on the creek bank in the centre of town, this park really does have it all! Free BBQ under pavilions and within metres of safe modern play equipment. Toddlers have fenced secure area whilst bigger kids have a so much but boys especially love the flying fox. Climbing frame, swings, slides, sand pit, lawn for cricket or footy, downed tree trunks to explore, and even musical equipment like drums, chimes and bells - you have been warned!Brings some food and enjoy the shaded seating. The creek is safe to explore unless in flood and toilets only 50m on the other side via pedestrian bridge. Plenty of parking and within 150m of shops and cafes for coffee and food. there is Coles for BBQ snags but please consider the local butcher Black Forest Meats who makes great gourmet sausages and open till 1pm Saturday. The worst thing is getting the kids to leave.
What a brilliant purpose built park! All BBQ's are free as they are on natural gas. There are two large play areas, one fenced in for the younger kids and then a larger open area for the bigger kids. Even the adults can have a go on the flying fox. We had our son's birthday party here and it was great. There is so much for the kids to see and play on. There is 3 big undercover BBQ areas, toilets are just across the bridge, there's walking tracks and it's really close to town, so if you need, it is only a quick walke to the supermarket if you need or jump over to the fish n' chips shop for a quick lunch in the park.Best thing is there is also a grass area to put a blanket down and have a picnic. If you get a chance, go to the park for Halloween. The local rotary club put on a free BBQ and hand out lollies to the kids, and the park is filled with people dressed up, young and old.
Expanded grounds enables many family groups to use the area at the same time. Secure (fenced) playground for toddlers and large and varied playground and equipment for others. There's shade and BBQ facilities, paved paths great for kids to ride bikes and scooters. Whilst there's no toilets in the grounds, there are public toilets just up the street and many cafes across the road for buying food and drinks.
Great fun for the kids in beautiful surroundings. Extensive playground that is good for all ages and close to shops so you can grab stuff for a picnic or award winning treats from the local bakery.
This is a great park and it's got a natural feel - it's so well designed. All kids love it and constantly want to go back.
Literally...didn't see the small street sign and had to ask at the visitor info centre.Great equipment for little ones in an enclosed area, great for the kids and even teenagers with the giant flying fox (about 30m).Had 2 main BBQ areas and some seating.Didn't notice any toilets on the grounds (we may have missed them, not sure) but there are some at the visitor centre across the road - about 150m walk away.
Lots to do here, small kids area, climbing frame and the massive flying fox is always a hit as well as the usual playground. One of the best in the area.
This park is just terrific. There are junior and senior sections, lovely setting and the kids just love it.
Wish I had a playground like this when I was little. The Children's park is a delight for children and adults alike. The BBQ areas are perfect for warm summer evenings.
This is a really nice park although as with most parks I wish they had a little bit sectioned off for toddlers that was fenced in. Most toddlers run all over the place and as mums and dads all we do is chase them from running on the road, down a ditch, over a hill, you name it. There is a great park in Kyneton for example and you can sit inside and let your child play without having to run around like a chook with its head cut off to stop them running out of the grounds and onto the road. You may as well use your own back yard otherwise.
A wonderful area for families to enjoy a day out. Grab some fish and chips from Marlins or Friar Tucks and take the kids out the Park. Great spot
