Well used running and walking circuit before and after work, but there are lovely quiet times too. Good views of residential areas, city centre and water. Love seeing how close industry is to town. If you are lucky you might hear/see a dolphin surface.

It is a very beautiful inlet but beware if you go boating as most places it is only 2-3 feet deep. You can get some crabs with a scoop net. Nice foreshore and a long jetty to walk out and if you are lucky you might see some dolphins.

Amazing views, just beautiful! Dolphins in the bay, water skiing, a wonderfully relaxing place with a choice of places to eat nearby.

Bunbury is also known as the city of three waters as the city is surrounded by Koombana Bay, the Indian Ocean and the Leschenault Inlet. I am lucky enough to live in Bunbury where my friends and I always walk each Sunday morning around Koombana Bay.  The walking track around Koombana Bay is about 5.8km.  It starts at a carpark opposite the Grand Cinemas. You will walk through Queens Gardens along side the waters. There is exercise equipment for public use situated along the track from cross-training, bicycles and rowing etc.  The track  will take you along Austral Parade passing the Parade Hotel and then  you can stroll through very extensive broadwalks along Koombana Drive and then turn into the Mangrove area where members of the public can enjoy bird watching as the area is known as the home for many species of waterbird. The best thing about walking around Koombana Bay is - you sometimes are lucky enough to see wild dolphins gracefully swimming in the bay.  It is definitely highly recommended when you visit Bunbury.

Stayed at the caravan park in Australind and enjoyed the inlet on a small dingy. When the ocean got too rough for fishing, motored into the inlet with a few crab nets. Lovely relaxing afternoon and were rewarded with a nice feed of crabs

Seabirds and waterfowl everywhere on the inlet and roosting on rocks and islets which would indicate there is ample food in the inlet to sustain them all. Little sign of human polution along the banks of this inlet. However there was a huge amount of evidence from irresponsible dog owners. Doggy do was in abundance - very disappointing from a walking perspective.
