This was the highlight of our trip! It is a paradise island and we loved it! Make sure you negotiate lots if you are buying jewellery. Staff are friendly and helpful!
This island has no compare if you want to have a very good and relaxing vacation. I would definetly recomend to stay the night.
visit hotel decameron and went fishing with locals. Great wahoo action and also cheap food. Believe there is a place "el uruguayo" that we ate at...recommended.
We spent two nights here and wish we could have stayed four. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been and glad we decided to make this side trip last minute. Staff is very friendly, there are a decent amount of activities, and the food is good. The only negative thing I would say is that the dinners are not that great. I loved the options for breakfast and lunch but not the dinners. Nonetheless, it was extremely beautiful and a very relaxing time there. The water is beautiful and you get white sanded beaches (which you unfortunately do not get in Cartagena).
Went on a tour and loved it. It was the perfect Caribbean beach. If you do the tour get the lunch included because the price doubles if you buy it there.
Beautiful island that rivals any of the better known Caribbean islands. 2 hours by boat from Cartegena. Enjoy the most populated island per square foot near Island Mucura. Plenty of fish to see while snorkeling or diving.
Two days in paradise. Beautiful beach and reefs full of wonderful fish. Turtles released into the sea the day we spent there. Basic food and accomodation but doesnt detract from the lovely setting and attentive staff. Worth the 2 hour boat ride there and back. Even has internet. Amazing and almost your own desert island.
We only stayed on Isla Mucura for 2 days but wish we would have stayed at least one day longer. It was the perfect place to relax and forget about the rest of the world for a couple of days. The staff was so wonderful and friendly ... I cannot say enough about the great people working on this island. The beach was small with white sand and clear blue water. Perfect! We spent most of our time laying on the beach or floating in the perfectly calm sea. We were told that they have tours to the islands nearby and other activities such as diving, snorkeling etc. but we did not do much other than read and rest. If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing get away - this is it. A couple of additional points:Food: Overall the food was pretty good. Breakfast and dinner were nothing to write home about but lunch was always fantastic.Transportation: We were nervous because we were not able to find anything about transportation on the website (only on Trip Advisor) but there was nothing to worry about. We just showed up at the Hotel Regatta at 10:00 AM and a representative was there to greet us and confirm our reservation. A van transported us from the Hotel Regatta to the port around 11:00 AM or so. You have the option of paying for the boat transportation at the port or at check-out when you leave Punta Faro. We chose to pay at check-out. The boat ride is supposed to be approximately 2 hours but it took us a little over 3 hours because the sea was a little rough. It only took us 2 1/2 on our return to Cartagena but there was no van transportation from the port to Hotel Regatta. It would have been better for them to arrange to take us back to Hotel Regatta because it was very hard to catch a cab right outside the port entrance.Language - We were nervous after reading some other reviews that we would not be able to communicate with anyone on the island because of our (very) limited Spanish language skills. We were pleasantly surprised that several of the staff spoke English very well and several guests were English speaking too.
this is a little piece of hidden paradise in Colombia. The service is excellent, even beyond that. The food is quite good. The place is just a paradise: private beach, snorkeling, volley ball, football field...Do not hesitate, just go.We just loved everything there!
Nicest place I've ever been to in my 13 years. The service was great even though there weren't enough people to be working the place. The water was crystal clear. beautiful Fish swim in the water with you at the beach and it is so relaxing. definitely get the massage as much as possible, it is cheap, and feels great, and the sound of the waves crashing under you, the view of the crystal blue water is great. Bring sweatshirts though, the island gets VERY windy at night starting at like four and progressively getting worse. but i don't have many complaints. simply beautiful and relaxing.
Every moment here felt like i was in paradise. Highly recommended! Beautiful beaches, very few tourists and lovely locals!
Don't miss this place. Truly a sight to see. The fort is massive and beautiful. There are also some small local shops close by that you can walk around for some cultural experience.
It's a two hour speedboat ride, but this place is magical. It's far enough from Cartagena to not have touts. Facilities are rustic, but the locals are down to earth, and the beach is white and soft, the water calm.
It is a very uniqueisland resort, it privately owned and maintained. You need to take a boat ride from Cartagena to get to it. It is highly recommended for honey mooners and couples. DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN WITH YOU ON THIS VACATION!The food is really good, the service is good too. The night shows could be better, but hey...The rooms are very nicely decorated and private. The beaches have white fine sand and the waters are crystal clear. You can also take a walk tour to near by places and take lost of cool pictures.Deecember is high season and it is hard to get a reservation so make them as early as possible.
It wasa beautiful and relaxing day. I loved the lunch.
