clear water, warm and spectacular view. the color of the water is just amazing. soo warm you do want to go out of the water if you have the opportunity make your sell a favor and go there
when you get to los roques you have 2 choices. take a package tour and be crowded in with another 20-30 people per dayor,rent a boat (with a skipper) and ask him to take you to a sand bank, leave you there, and return to pick you up at sundown. Most posadas, will organize this trip, and you could find yourself alone all day on a sand bank.the place is beautiful as long as you can escape the {tours}
Here, this key, have the possibility to walk some meters with the water at your knees. You can take a chair with you and sit there while your kids are careless playing or simply stay talking with friends. If you snorkel, maybe can see some lobsters laying at the bottom between the algae. At the rear part of the key, there a place called "La piscina" where you can snorkel and see part of the coral reef and the marine fauna
All the cayos I have visited in Los Roques are gorgeous and Francisqui is no exception. We went for a short-day on Friday because we were leaving for Caracas on a 3:00 flight. The short distance from Gran Roque make this the perfect cayo if you have less than a full day at the beach, but you may never want to leave. The water is beautiful, with views toward the open sea and gorgeous vistas of Gran Roque only 15 min. away. Do not miss snorkeling in the piscinita, the best we experienced in Los Roques. There are amazing good spirits among everyone on the beach so don't be surprised if, like me, you are greeted, in the water, by a party of gorgeous Brazilians who offer you a beer and food from out-of-a-dream their kayak-bar - gracias Ernesto all your Recife and Lisboa friends , if you read this let's keep in touch! The bar/restaurant on the beach is great and the beautiful Suni will make you the very best mojitos you have ever had and knows her way around a campari aquaquina, while offering many interesting thoughts on local life. I have been to many great beaches in my life but Los Roques for me is tops, and Francisqui distinguishes itself for a party atmosphere, a great balance to other cayos where you will be more seduced by tranquility and remoteness.
Just 15 minutes on boat from the Gran Roque island, francisqui is a beautiful place to go and spend the day! The beach is ideal for swimming, doing kitesurfing or snorkeling. On one side there is what locals call "the pool" where you can snorkel around watching marine life. There is a restaurant where you can have lunch if it is not included in the boat ride. The view is awesome, so don't forget your camera!!!
The water is crazy (you can see 3 diferent colors in the same place) unbelivable!!!!.. is just 5 minutes from the gran roque, so is the best option if you have a tight schedule
One of the islands we visited from Gran Roque (10 minutes away by boat). It has a wind and kite surf school and rental service. Nice place also to rest or to snorkel. Bring sun block and mosquito repellant!
one of the closest beach/island options from Gran Roque - has a strip of beach and beautiful crystal clear turquoise water. Also a restaurant with great food. But be aware that biting flies and some other sort of really tiny biting insect start to appear in the afternoons (I was there in Aug, no idea if it's year-round). Sitting in the water seemed to help
This review is intended to actually express my utter joy not just in this one island but in all of Los Roques. The place is unbelievably lovely and deserves to be more visited but in many regards it is the limited amount of tourists that come here that keep it rather charming.The streets are all of sand, there are almost no petrol vehicles on the island. Certainly there are no private cars.The posadas are almost exclusively owned by Italians and they are all rather nice though some are quite basic so be realistic with your expectations. Many places have no hot water but why you want hot water when it is 30C is anyone's guess.The water is as good as the Maldives but it is quieter here, more laid back and far cheaper. Fishing, snorkelling and diving are all big here. Kite surfing is taking off (pardon the pun too) in a major way.Food can be a little limited depending when the last supply boat has been. Menus are not extensive but the food is generally good. Lobster is very cheap but not always available. Beers in the smaller bars cost about £1, a cocktail in the best place is no more than £2.50Out of 80 countries that I have visited this is now in my top three spots on the planet!
Lovely key but at a certain time in the afternoon you are bitten by very tiny green insects for quite a while
Generally this is the most visited cayo for daily trips to los roques. It is very close to gran roque (the island where the airplanes land). It has a restaurant and also a coral reef for snorkeling. If you have only one day for los roques, this could be a good choice, If you have more time, the best cayo is Crasqui.
Repellent is very necessary in Franciski. But is a very nice island, with bar and restaurant. Good place to visit in the day you arrive or leave Los Roques.
We came here 3 times during our time at Los Roques and cannot recommend the restaurant enough. Lovely people and a great setting for a beach lunch. Thanks to the owner for sorting out our lift back after a boat did not return for us. Fun having lunch with the gecko's too.
One of the best keys in Los Roques, it has food service, beautiful white sand, blue water and friendly people all over the place... don't miss it on your trip.
The nearest island is in fact the best! There are some differents kinds of beachs, one better than other.
