Ural mineralogy Museum is located in Bolshoi Oural Hotel, it shows pretty little sculptures in an elegant ambiance.Geological Ural Museum is "the official mineral museum" owned by Iekaterinburg City. It is located in Kouybysheva 39, easy to reach walking from the pedestrian central area. It is very rich and usually V.I.P visiting the city are brought to visit the place. No indications in English, everything is writted in Cyrillic, but as some names are as in Occidental characters it helps.Information in English would be appreciated.The collection is very rich, you will see stones you never see before, even meteorits, as Siberia received a lot of meteorits.The museum shop is CHEAP, don't hesitate to buy, you will find the items more expensive in other places.

Whenever somebody asks me what to see in my city, the first thing that comes to mind - is the Mineralogy museum. It has made a lasting impression on me. You wouldn't believe how beautiful minerals can be, until you have seen them with your own eyes. There are so many exhibits there, they will give you quality time and make your day. It's like... visiting seashells museums for someone who lives far from the sea. A breath-taking experience.

Not in my initial itinerary. Since there are slightly change of plan, I decided to give it a try. It turn out to be quite interesting. It is a worth 1 hour visit for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed the visit here. many interesting exhibits carved from stone and for many of our group items of interest for sale. This is worth a visit.

This was the last stop in a city tour i took and i found it great as someone interested in geology. They have lots of specimens on display as well as some fossils and stone carvings. I didn't pay an entry fee but that was maybe included in the tour fee? There are no English signs but i could identify many of the specimens. The building is very old and not maintained and apparently the government is trying to kick out this museum so they can rent out the space for retail.

The museum contains a large number of beautiful stones and gems. Some raw, some sculpted into art. It is an entertaining visit, especially on a rainy day. The building hosting it is very shabby and the staff utterly uninterested in cleaning or repairing it, preferring to sit around totally oblivious to our presence. Don't expect any explanation about where the stone were found and how, and their geological background. As such, this museum shows beauty but does not explain anything.

This museum is a private collection of many minerals and gemstones and sculptures, mosaics and formations made of it. It's interesting and fortunately not very science-y. Also the entrance fee is quite cheap, just 100 rubles and the souvenir shop has many beautiful jewels with gemstones.

Очень интересная коллекция, есть на что посмотреть, даже без экскурсовода.Да, в музее нет электричества и отопления - кто-то что-то не поделил.

Многие экспозиции были закрыты. Музей нуждается в реставрации, но в целом для геологов-интересно. Для не геологов- наверное будет скучновато. Может быть нужна экскурсия, будет интереснее. Ну или аудио-гид, была бы ему рада

Очень хорошая коллекция, грамотный и увлеченный своим делом экскурсовод. Только нет ни света, ни отопление. На входе висит объявление: " свет и отопление отключены по приказу Москвы"Некоторые особо крупные экспонаты можно потрогать.Хороший магазинчик на 1м этаже, где можно прикупить себе или в подарок камушек или изделие из них...

Отличная коллекция представлена в нашем музее. Много интересных образцов. Для любителей камня и интересующихся. Из минусов , совковый сервис.

В этом музее отключено электричество, в музее холодно, сотрудники разбили там палатку - бастуют. В принципе экскурсии информативны, но скучноваты.

очень маленький музей с скромной коллекцией, билеты же стоят как в большой, есть скидки студентам. коллекция в ЕМИИ куда больше и любопытнее, на мой взгляд. но здесь можно посмотреть на оборудование для обработки камней.

Ходили с классом дочери в Минералогический музей, очень познавательно. Экскурсовод подготовил для детей интересные задания, они не только слушали, но и находили смеек в зале. Перед детьми выступала Каменная Княжня, что очень заинтерисовало деток. Дети могли пощупать камни , которые добываются на Урале. Для развития детей и себя обязательно загляните в этот музей!
