A pleasant place to see in the old town, to walk and to see the views. Maybe it is more interesting in summer, not in winter. Some pleasant shops, with things handmade. the bridge is made by architect Ficheto.
Very interesting bridge. There are some lovely shops with typical Bulgarian products. There is also a coffee shop with very good "katmi" which is full all the day. When you pass inside you feel you a part of the history.
When you are in Lovech no way not to visit.Made many years ago by Kolyo Fitcheto. The bridge was built over the River Osum. Inside there are various souvenir shops. Once you go through it you will find yourself in the square. Right behind him is the old town of Varosha.Quarter of old beautiful houses, among which there are stone streets. There is the museum of the great Bulgarian Vasil Levski.Entrance is 3 lev / 1.5 euros / person. After the museum climb about 300 steps and reach the top. There is a statue of Vasil Levski. Huge and amazing. Next to it is Lovech fortress. Necessarily take the time to get to it. Entrance is 3 lev / 1.5 euros / person. From the top a magnificent view.Time you need to see this about 5-6 hours.
The covered Bridge is a beautiful landmark in the center of Lovech with a few Bulgariancraft and souvenir shops along the way. Doesn't take a long time to visit and isn't much to do but if you're in Lovech it's worth a look
What a lovely old fashioned bridge with shops, it oozed history. Loved the individual craft shops. Nice point halfway where you can look down the river and see the buildings in old Lovech.
There's nothing to see there apart from stores where you can buy souvenirs(the second star is for that). Just put a ceiling on any other bridge and close it for vehicles and there you have it. Do not lose your time ;)
Covered Bridge is a symbol of the town of Lovech. When built, the bridge connects the shopping street on both sides of the river. The bridge makes shopping continuous. The overall construction of the bridge going under the Great Master . Koliu Fitcheto built a unique transport facility , much more perfect and sound in architecture, urban planning and commercially compared to its predecessors. The bridge is one of the masterpieces of Kolyu Fitcheto . The bridge were located various craft and trade shops , and in the middle of the two countries has observation decks, the beautiful view .Unfortunately, the bridge was destroyed in August 1925, after it was completely rebuilt . Carriageway of the new bridge is 4.25 m wide and on both sides there are sidewalks 80 cm construction of the bridge is of reinforced concrete , the roof is of reinforced glass . Now the bridge has many shops and cafes and it is still a favorite place for residents of the town of Lovech.
You can't miss this if you are in Lovech. Read the history and enjoy the shopping experience. Then have a meal in the square. Beautiful place.
Lovech is a lovely place in Bulgaria, the bridge is full of small shops with lots of gifts and friendly people!Lovech itself was so clean and people made us feel very welcome, so much so we are going back next month! :b
