Great nature, calm, peaceful and fifty shades of green. We travelled by car and had breaks at good location. It was really nice to travel there.

Absolutely incredible thing to watch, something to do at 9 o clock at night, go and see them, we went especially and really enjoyed it. Don't want to say too much incase I give it away but go and enjoy.

There aren't many obvious options if you fancy a walk in the forest to escape the loveliness of Marmaris, but here are some directions if you nevertheless want to give it a go.First of all, you need to get to Armutalan via the No. 2 dolmus (or a taxi). If it's the dolmus, get off once you reach a parade of the usual bars/shops on a straight road which is heading for the hills - look for New York Bar / J&J Steakhouse and get off there. Then head up the road between the Red Rose and Amadeus restaurants, past Club Alpina and then shortly afterwards past the Blue Park hotel. At a crossroads, carry straight on past 'Nature Homes' on your left. You'll see a board with maps of footpaths (see photos) which gives the impression there's a well-marked set of trails. There isn't.Anyway, walk up 233 Sokak (street) to the right of the board, and you'll see a sign ("For walking"). Stay on the tarmac road which swings to the right. At a T-junction, turn left. At the next fork (where there's a wooden post which used to be a marker), take the right-hand track. At the next fork (where there's lots of rubbish and a view back down to the sea) go left. After that, it's up to you. You need some sort of GPS to stop yourself getting horribly lost - I followed what looked like it ought to be a track towards Iclemer, but it was almost vertical with lots of loose earth and I thought my lungs were going to burst. However, it did allow me to get to another track which led back down to Siteler (and the sea). If you've got GPS, you could just go exploring and if the worst comes to the worst, you can retrace your steps. Is it worth it? Sort of. There's lots of rubbish (people seem to drive up these tracks for picnics or "courting" and then leave plastic bottles and all sorts of crap), but the views are good, and it's quiet up there.'Viewranger' is a brilliant free app with maps/GPS which I used on my tablet; you need to download the savable map of the area before you set off (and do so in adequate detail).

The area is surrounded by beautiful mountains which are very green. Beautiful landscape around the sea.

Marmaris has beautiful scenery all around. No matter where you are or what the weather the mountains are beautiful.

We hired a Jeep for two days from Azun Tours.(Tony's Place)..which was a very reasonably priced..then headed out of Marmaris..seen some of Turkey which we would have not normally seen, also visited Turunch and other small villages..but watch out for very curvy bends and lazy cows on some of the roads..also some that end suddenly..after travelling almost 12km..otherwise good fun and also a different way of seeing Turkey..or like us also Greece!!..

WOW, to see the beautiful Marmaris mountains from the town or from a boat is a huge wow, but to actually go by car to see them, ids just an absolute jaw dropping and awe inspiring experience. The mountains are vast and mind blowing. They are full of colour and just mind blowing. Everywhere beautiful, majestic peaks, valley, ridges, breathtaking and everyone different, amazing, please go see for yourself, I cant put it into words, you have to see them to experience them, I felt very small and humble, and honoured to be there.WONDERFUL!!!

Marmaris Bel Evi - the Honey House - is in Osmaniye Koyu toward the top of the Bozburun Peninsular. Created to promote and develop the local honey industry in 2011 it provides a fascinating visitors centre. This includes an introductory film viewing theatre, an English speaking guide, numerous aspects of beekeeping exhibits including viewing panels into live hives and a total experience not to be missed.A range of honey is on sale including pine honey - absolutely delicious - which is almost unique to the Marmaris/Mugla region where 92% of the world's production is to be found. There is no entrance fee, the aim being to educate and spread the word. The opportunity to purchase the product is a real bonus together with the opportunity to take photos. Ideal for families, couples and singles alike. As part of a day out this forms part of a gloriously picturesque journey into mountains surrounded by pine forests, villages and locals who in typical Turkish fashion, make you welcome.Enjoy the experience.

Marmaris mountains are very impressive and from our room we could see the mountains which compensated for the busy main road outside our room.
