We took a nice walk along the pier admiring the nice yachts. There is an option to take a glass bottom boat out to sea, but it was to windy the day we went.
It is not actually possible to enter the marina itself, unless you have a permit. But a stroll along the British-built wooden pier in late afternoon, or very early morning is a lovely way to get some fresh sea air. If you are interested in boats, walk up one side of the pier (on the right are all the large tourist boats) and return on the other (on the left are the general private boats, catamarans and smaller ones). If you like cats, there are hundreds of strays who are waiting for you to feed them.
We had some nice pictures at the Marina. There were some people swimming! My son jumped on a boat for a few minutes. He felt really happy!
A very pleasant walk, although you cannot get anywhere near to the boats as there is a security barrier...
The walk around the Marina entrance is peaceful, unless one of the markets are on, which basically sell a lot of toys/junk, nothing very interesting. This time of the year the temp is still around 20/22, which is comfortable. The are a few seats, that over look the marina, like most Marina, unless you have a boat in there, you are not permitted to enter, don't worry, you wont miss anything. In the summer months it can be a busy area, with bored tourist. But if you fancy a walk, at your own speed without the crowds October/November is still warm enough to walk around, although can get a bit chilly in the shade, worth taking Jumper/coat in the evening.
When in Larnaca a Stole down the Old Colonial Pier opposite the Sun Hall Hotel is a nice way to spend a few Hours ! It is in amongst the Yachts and Tour Boats that offer a range of Tours in the Bay and beyond. Be sure to check All the offers from the Tour Boats before booking as the sales techniques employed by some of the Staff can be Quite Pushy !! Look, Listen, and then decide ! a Little haggling is also a good Idea !! We chose Captain George for a trip in the Bay. A Smaller Glass Bottom Boat next to the Aquarium Café ! Nice Captain and knows his stuff we went to the Wreck of Zenobia very interesting !
The marina itself isn't too special just lots of varying sized yachts and fishing vessels however fairly near the start is a boat offering sunset cruises, I paid 10 euros for an hour 15 minute trip down to Makenzy beach and back up whilst the sun was setting. Beautiful experience!
Nothing wow to mention that makes this Marina stand out like any other. Its where most of the boats are kept and where you can hire any boat rides.
Larnaka marina is quite big in size with various sizes of boats. I have made a sunset tour from the marina which was very interesting and the sunset was beautiful.
abundance of eateries,,try the pork chops they are enormous, just of the town lots of shops and right on the beach
The marina is nice but the WC are not clean all day long and is is about time to rebiluld themIs is fun to get out of the marina in to the center of town
Nothing much for visiting and viewing. If you were not there you did not miss anything if you do not want to go you have decided clever.
Very nice place to have water pleasure and boating expierence. Possible to swim in the beach, wahat is easy accesseble by walking.
The glass bottom boats are a waste of money, you can't see anything, except a few fish and coral, and some shadowy bits. My advice is to avoid them, do scuba for the wreck diving. The prices fluctuate wildly from day to day, so shop around first before you leap into the boat, and do your research. As for the evening romantic cruises, definite go for it. I took the pirate boat. It was quiet, gentle and relaxed! For the bigger safari trips find out if its marketed for russians or internationals. Many russians now live in Cyprus and love yapping their heads off in their language and ignore the rest . Take note - it will one sentence inbyour language and a 6 hour trip in their language of non stop yappingnwhich becomes cumbersome and annoying for your ear drums. These trips should offer cassette tapes like museums do in different languages. That said, when the ear plugs have been put in, the swims are fabulous. Make sure you are a strong swimmer. Calm seas still have strong currents. Its cold, wear swim boots as I broke my toe getting in the water or flippers. There is a massive oversell on these trips. Uou will be "flabbergasted, amazed". Yes, I was, at the disappointment of the sights I expected to see. No dolphins darlings, its far too noisy, but you might see the sights or opt out to get onto The Black Pearl. You may see the odd cat hobbling off a boat or two, almost looking like a pirate too...Overall I love the sea and being on boats, so above issues aside I enjoyed the experience
excellent food, restaurants, very clean beautiful place, during weekends a little overcrowded but it is understable
