I live in spring / summer very close from this one. This beach is big enough to find quietness even in mid touristic season.A bridge cross the little river inside HappyMag hotel but I believe they don't mind non-guests crossing it.Rocky right side area ok for snorkeling and after the "Old Damnoni Harbour", pretty good for scuba diving as well. You'll find a good Dive Center in the last cabin on the right side (facing the sea) of the beach : Phoenix Dive ClubAmateurs of other water sports find what they need just nextdoor.Mobile cantina open in high season.3 Tavernas open in spring/summer.Very easy access with the asphalted road all along the beach.Opportunity to walk to/From Plakias (about 1h30-2h) trough spectacular Kalypso Bay/Hotel and another rocky path with great view on Plakias Bay.On the other direction from Damnoni, you can walk/drive on a dirt road above Amoudaka, Micro Amoudi, Amoudi beaches then meet an asphalted road leading to the main Plakias-Lefkogia road.
Taxi ride away from Plakias nice restaurants, lots of Parasols with drinks service. Water sports and lovely stream with beautiful dragonflies.
You can walk over the olive groves to Damnoni from Plakias in about 30 mins. It is a lovely sheltered bay backed by several very good tavernas. It has sun beds and umbrellas at 5 euro for the day the sand is kept very clean and the water is crystal clear and calm.
Really good beach well equipped for all to enjoy, the water is crystal clear and beach well sheltered from the wind. My 5year old really loved it here. Always a good sign to see the beach full of locals too
Brilliant beach; not too far from palm beach! Defo worth going. Couples /small groups I think it suits best. Nice few places to eat there. Nice sunbeds. The beach is clean and sandy, the sea is clear and calm. Bring your goggles and take a look at the fish surrounding you. I loved it here.
Don't get me wrong, this is a nice place, but compared with the other beaches in the area, we thought it is too crowded, and we like more secluded places. However, it is easy accessible, clean and well served.
Very clean beach! Sun umbrellas and sunbeds are provided. The seawater is amazing. You will surely enjoy your stay there! There are tavernas if you want to drink or eat something.
Crystal clear water, not windy and child friendly. Taverns at beach side are delicious, especially the damnoni one, with a ex tea customer friendly staff. Worth a visit and be elEcted the preferred beach on a long stay
This beach was large and a big area was dominated by a nice looking Hotel. The three Tavernas were set back and were good places to chill and have a quck drink. Bit too commercial
It's just a tiny beach not so widely known among the travellers but surely locals witll tell u this place is a must. There are small cafes, parking place but overall i would recommend this place for pairs only. Big companies could be a bit dull there
Best beach in Plakias area by far !!! Nice location, awesome taverna ( Damnoni taverna). Place to go !
good beach, sunbeds available, opposite tavernas, however you can get plenty of space away from these tavernas. Parking can be a problem. so the earlier you arrive the better.
I walked to Damnoni several times from the Irida Studios to the far end where there is a small cove. I consider it my own little private spot where I can relax, read, swim and snorkel!
this was one of our favorite beaches near our hotel. we also loved the great little taverna across the street from the beach.
west of Damnoni beach (which is a pearl), asphalt road to the south along the coast leads to Calipso Hotel and diving center, Plakias, Crete, Greece. The scenery is breathtaking! located on cliffs separated from the sea by a rock wall, that forms a fjord like bay. on the narrow wall there is a paved path overlooking the opened sea and the inner bay. they have a diving school and rooms. The rooms seem to be low standard. But there are a few pools, including a big one on the cliffs. There is a bar in a brick pirate ship and it is busy in season. closed for winter Oct 17th.
