Small and charming Greek Island. Getting there by boat from enywhere (we came from Rhodes). A self walk tour will take about 1.5 to 2 houres. Beautifull and peacefull place, sorrounded by the sea, nice and friendly people. Bring bathing suit if you like to fresh up in the sea. Nice place to spent half a day. We visited on July 2014, the weather was just perfect.

Walked all the way up still closed, a sign further down would be helpful! Good views at the top though and nice cafés, walk is quite hard in heat

No indication of when the museum will reopen. Worth a walk in the vicinity of the museum as there are many ancient narrow streets to be experienced and great views of Pedi and the Harbour.

Closed in 2013 for renovations & still closed now. Surely the place can't be that big?A nice walk up to it though!

Better to go early in the morning in summer as there are quite a few steps to walk up... but it is a very nice small folklore museum which is worth the climbing.

The walk through the steeply climbing, winding lanes is fascinating. But the museum is closed for renovations (this at September 2012) and no date of re-opening has been announced. If you love walking and exploring, go anyway and carry on up the hill. Otherwise, first find out if the museum has re-opened.Note: this does not apply to the Maritime Museum on the port, which is open.

The museum housed all kinds of artefacts from over the centuries and offered a historic view of the life and times of Symi

Preciosa. Hicimos un mini crucero desde el puerto de rodas a symi y panormitis. La primera es una fallos isla que vive del turismo. Casas de colores a lo largo del puerto conforman una foto digna de recuerdo. Comida barata en los chiringuitos del puerto y baño en el dique. Como niños pequeños. Fabuloso. La parada en panormitis digna de ver el monasterio. Cuidado para los que se marean en barco. Biodramina y listo.

Une île grecque à ne pas rater !!! Arrivée en bateau, c'est époustouflant de couleurs et de quiétude. Les maisons colorées à la chaux, côte à côté, ou en étages sur les collines accidentées, toutes plus belles les unes que les autres, un véritable tableau de grand peintre !! C'est aussi l'un des plus beaux ports de Grèce avec une eau turquoise et des fonds transparents. Belles plages où l'eau cristalline régale les touristes. Sur les hauteurs, des forêts de cyprès et de pins. Très bonnes tables, où que vous alliez et gentillesse garantie !! Les habitants sont principalement pêcheurs ou commerçant et vivent du tourisme. Belle église à visiter pour les courageux, tout en haut de Symi... Vue imprenable sur la ville et le port. A faire !!!

При посещении острова Сими планировали посетить музей. Мы ожидали встречи с экспозицией, рассказывающей о прошлом острова, о ловле губок. Хотели осмотреть коллекцию губок, камни для дайвинга при ловле губок. Но увы — вместо этого наткнулись на закрытый музей. Поднимались с обеих сторон здания, потыркались в закрытые двери, но бесполезно. Только заржавевшие пушки и якоря сиротливо валялись перед входом в музей.И главным впечатлением от непосещения музея стало густой тяжелый запах чего-то гниющего рядом с музеем.

Посетили этот необыкновенный остров в июне месяце !Сам населенный пункт производит впечатление игрушечного чудесного уголка , вдруг неожиданно появившегося на фоне изрезанных берегов самого острова и Эгейского моря ! Очень впечатлило сочетание насыщенности и буйства , красок самой природы и прекрасных разноцветных маленьких домиков построенных в неоклассическом стиле ...Остров запомнился ярким, красочным, разноцветным калейдоскопом воспоминания о котором будут греть в холодные зимние дни !На острове можно купить хорошего качества морскую губку ,поесть свеже пойманной рыбы ,искупаться ,и просто замечательно провести время .

Сказочный остров, с маленькими цветными домиками. Вид с горы на остров вызывает шквал чувств! Незабываемое место!
