A great guided trip to the history of the old aristocracy in Corfu. Authentic furniture, interesting stories, incredibly friendly enviroment. Do not miss it when you are in the centre of Corfu!
It is a treat to the unsuspecting visitor to enter the magic of Casa Parlante. Not only is it the recreation of the 18th century family mansion, but the use of the latest of robotics for the display. The care and attention of the curators is more than obvious in every detail of this unique museum. Strongly recommended! Chris Kribas.
I had heard about this new museum and went in for a visit one day when passing. There was much more than I expected - and the guide was excellent. The layout of the rooms in this aristocratic family home in the 19th century was interesting and so many details - furnishings, paintings, everyday objects. You see the family - the old Count and Countess and the next generation as well as the children playing the piano and violin with their tutor. The kitchen was very good and had an authentic feel about it as did the store room. Highly recommended. A good €5 worth!
After finding this museum on here on TA, we visited during our cruise stop in Corfu. Admission was 5 euro per person. The first guide, a cheerful, friendly, and knowledgeable girl, was called away to do a tour in Italian shortly after we arrived, so we next had a sweet man who was nervous about doing a tour in English. He shouldn't have been. His English was great and so was the tour. You get a fascinating look into the life of a 19th-century wealthy family. The detail is amazing - right down to what the cook is making in the kitchen and what the children study with their tutor. It's a really interesting idea for a museum, with the mix of guide, moving figures, and decor/ furnishings authentic from the period. We enjoyed our visit of about 30 minutes and definitely recommend it.
I can't gush about this museum enough!Located in a converted flat on the first floor of a house right in the central tourist area, this museum should be on everyone's must-see list! Firstly it's open till 10pm every day except Sunday so it's one of the rare activities you can do after 3pm when everything else closes, but also the exclusive guide you get shares so much information with you that even an experienced visitor to Greece would get a lot out of it.The flat is furnished as it would have been suring the brief period of British rule, and shows how a noble family would have lived. You can see their study, the private rooms and the servants' quarters, and the detail they have gone to is incredible, from furniture to small objects to clothes and hairstyles on the moving mannequins. The guide not only has a huge spiel about every room, she clearly also knows her topic and can answer any question you put to her. She is genuinely enthusiastic and brings the rooms even more alive with storied from her own family's history and how it relates to what you see.I learnt so much in a 30-minute visit, and all if it was unexpected, not what you usually get a glimpse of in museums. Thank you very much, Maria!
A great place to visit and get a feel of how life was for an aristocratic family living in Corfu in the 19th century. We got a great tour, the guide was friendly and knew lots of stuff, she could answer all of our questions. The tour takes about 45 minutes or so, totally worth it.
Casa Parlante had only been open for four months when we visited. Nevertheless, our private tour guide effortlessly informed us on the rich history of Corfu, Corfu town, and the family that used to live in this mansion. It was really nice to see all the different rooms, including the family members.Highly recommended for a close look into the cultural history of Corfu.

On behalf of everyone here, at Casa Parlante, I would like to thank you very much for your comments and your kind words. It was a great opportunity for you, since you had the time, to see both "sides" of Corfu, because this way you have obtained a more complete picture of our island's history and the way of living. We are really pleased that we helped you to learn more things about Corfu!Thank you again,Theodora Efthimiou
Thank you very much for your interest and your kind words. It is very important for us to be as informative as possible, because we want to recreate a vivid image of the past to our visitors! We know that the servants did not have equal rights as the nobility of Corfu back then, but it is a fact that this exact phenomenon of that era gave them the strength to create a living of their own and fight about people's rights in the society.Thank you again for your kind words,With regards,Efthimiou Theodora
