A cozy vineyard with great wines. The owner is friendly and proud to show off the vineyard that has been in the family for generations.Organic wines, with grapes grown as the soil and sky let them allows for delicious wines, full of flavor and with fruity notes. The wines you can taste and buy are great examples of the best characteristics of the Xinomavro grapes Nauossa is so famous for. However besides the wine on offer, make sure to inquire into their select editions not on display, for just a little extra you can get top tier wines at a pittance.
When I first saw the Dalamara estate and winery, it was illuminated by the gold of an early autumn sunset. The vines were a fervent green against the scenery and I couldn't wait to taste the wine from what were obviusly lovingly grown grapes, in full respect for nature and posterity. I remember thinking I would give anything to be able to spend every day in such a relaxing ambience. Since I am no wine expert, I was thankful to find out that the owners were more than happy to provide expert advice and offer a rich selection of wines for tasting. We were also lucky enough to enjoy a tour of the wine-bottling process and hear about the tradition of this charming family-run place. I heartily recommend a visit to Dalamara as one of the most pleasant ways to spend an afternoon!
Nausa is a great Thessaloniki get away place. Also, it is a region well known for its vines.Dalamara is a cozy winery with family history and great Greek vines. You can enjoy quality organic vines, both red and white. With a little luck, you'll hear about the vine-making process and different types of grapes from young and enthusiastic oenologist. The vine tasting area is traditionally decorated and the spirit of "old" only enhance the taste of the vine. It is definitely must-see winery during the Autumn, when the colours are amazing and the view form the Dalamara Winery makes it even better.
If you want to have a first hand experience from northern greek hospitality then you are in the right place. If by accident or even by purpose you are a wine lover then welcome to the must visit winery of Naoussa the most important wine region of Greece. Dalamaras family is famous in their town and generally in Greece especially for two things: first for their politeness and hospitality and second for "Paliokalias" their delicious wine which is produced with the most respect for nature and the local ecosystem. Kostis Dalamaras is a great wine maker (although he is very young he carries 5 generations of wine makers in his back) with studies in Burgundy and according to many magazines is ready to rock the winemaking industry with his knowledge and his passion for wine. Above all he is a great guy ready to share with smile his experience and knowledge, while he is offering a glass of wine in the middle of the family vineyard. If you are lucky (or better why don’t you arrange it) you can visit them during fall when they produce their famous "Tsipouro" and "Grappa". At this time of the year day by day there is a celebration in the winery. Local music players are playing their traditional music while you can taste the local goodies. Life is a celebration for Dalamaras family and this is well reflected in their wine where except all the aromas of "xinomavro" (the local grape variety) you can smell something more than the typical aromas and that is nothing less than their love for what they do.PS: I've been so many times there and I am eager to visit them again to sit near the fireplace and taste a glass of the great “Paliokalias” !!!
Domaine Dalamara is a family winery dedicated in producing authentic wines with a true and genuine character, while continuing the tradition of Naoussa, a leading Greek wine region. Kostis Dalamaras is a young winemaker, extremely passionate with what he's doing and dedicated to working hard in the vineyard and winery alike. While at the winery, you will have the chance to taste the family wines, converse with them, tour the winery and enjoy your time at their lovely backyard. If you are looking for original experiences away from the tourist masses, Domaine Dalamara is the place!
