st. alexander kirche

Third point representing the religious power of the city, it is well located in front of the mayor house on the other side of the former market place.

An interesting church, but very difficult to walk around with a lot of paraphernalia in the side aisles.

Arriving in Rastatt to tour the Baroque Residence (aka Castle Rastatt) we wandered the town on a Sunday morning and stumbled into this church. Pretty plain on the outside which did not prepare us for the Baroque opulence within. Just a wonderful little church in a sleepy (it was Sunday morning) Marktplatz in Germany.
