I have visited the Basilica Twice within 3 years and I still find this place amazing.You saw the Basilica and the Town of Assisi from a distance, and you felt that this is a HOLY Place, even being a non-sectarian myself, I felt the same way.The is a Traffic Restriction near the Basilica ( Zona Traffico Limitada ), and you should NOT drive in, except you have a Hotel reservation in the town.If you do not plan to stay, Find a Parking before the BIG sign, and walk to the Basilica.

I was there in October, 2014. The experience was holy. The city is so clean, from the first moment you arrive, you're in awe. The image you have of Italy changes when you arrive. People in Assisi are proud of their city and they show it.I was in Rome before and it is not clean. Not what we are used to in USA, our streets are clean in south Florida, so we don't realize that people's priorities are different in other parts of the world. It was a shock to see other parts of Italy in comparison to Assisi.I hope to got here one day.

The white and pink stone of this basilica is astounding! How could stones be this natural colour? Inside this basilica are images of the life of this little saint called poverello. His thornless rose bushes, his temptations, a statue where for five hundred years. Live doves nested in his hands. There are many ore images that speaks of deep appreciation of this saint to make the whole of the basilica. Of st. Francis . Go and visit this place and feel blessed by the holiness of st. Francis. I highly recommend for you to visit this place and spend sometime to pray for peace is the world. I just did.

Our visit here was a dream come true ,especially as we were prevented in 1997. The sense of wonder, especially when we visited so close to the feast day of St Francis was amazing. The Basilica has been meticulously restored after the earthquake, and Giotto's wonderful frescoes were a delight to the eye. The church is huge, make sure that you visit all levels.

Beautiful and historical. Well worth spending time in this special setting. Visit the tomb and pay attention to the wonderful art on the north side of the upper floor. This is a place to linger.

foi muito rica a ida até essa basilica papal e ter visitado o tumulo de são francisco de Assis, bem como participar da santa missa na capela das reliquias de são francisco, é uma grande alegria, espero voltar novamente nesta santo e lindo lugar!

Assis todo es espectacular. Sus calles y sus recovecos. Caminar por alli se eleva. La basilica es hermosa pero el verdadero tesoro es la iglesia que se encuentra debajo con la tumba del santo

Basilica superiore,scenografica con un bellissimo soffitto + Basilica inferiore con i dipinti del Lorenzetti + la Cripta per pregare San Francesco = una meraviglia!

...che abbia visto fin'ora!a parte l'architettura, i capolavori di Giotto ed altri artisti è il posto in sè che è bellissimo e non basterebbe tutto lo spazio per poterlo descrivere.

Assis é uma cidade linda, no coração da Umbria. A catedral é linda, mesmo após o terremoto de 1997 que destruiu parte de suas pinturas e afrescos. Os afrescos da Capela interior são belíssimos e valem muitos momentos de contemplação.Na Capela Superior você pode admirar a igreja na sua plenitude e ter uma ótima vista da cidade e de seu vale.Vale muito a pena a visita!

La tumba de San Francisco arranca las lágrimas hasta el más duro. Muy emotivo!! Arquitectura sublime. Frescos impresionantes.

Magnífica e emocionante. Estando em Assis, não deixe de visitá-la pelo seu valor histórico e religioso.

E' davvero bellissima nel 99% dei casi si va ad Assisi proprio per visitare la Basilica ed e' davvero un posto molto bello ,dove si riesce a rtrovare la pace dei sensi.

A fachada é simples, mas por dentro é linda!! Há franciscanos que fazem a apresentação e explicam tudo sobre a igreja.É muito emocionante para quem gosta de lugares religiosos. A Basílica fica no alto da colina e tem uma vista linda! É uma cidade que vale a pena visitar!
