Very authentic quiet resort, great for families, ate out at an excellent restaurant at the bottom of the ski runs, a very local resort, kids loved the easy off piste at the sides, with fresh powder it would be great, we spent 2 days there.

This is a very pictoresque village close to Bormio. It is worth going there and visit the centre and have a coffee or a drink. If you in the area for holidays instead, Santa Caterina could be an alternative stayig as very close to the slopes.

Great Mountain to ski and easy to get around with trails for all abilities. Easy place to ski with friends of all abilities to meet up for lunch.

Go up and over to the bowl in the back. Not to be missed. Sun valley is full of sunshine and power. watch out at lift lines as some skiers forget to Que up properly.

Very quiet and with very nice runs. Not a big area, but the Deborah Compagnoni run is a must do. Developed over 2 aspects, so ski on one side in the morning, under the sun, and then the other in the afternoon

We have returned to ski in Santa Caterina may times, definatly not the largest ski area, but enough to keep you busy. The village is lovely and all the "locals" very freindly and seem to appreciate you staying, our children learnt to ski here and have familys of there own now but still return to Santa Cat as well "its Santa Cat" as my eldest daught told me. Just like putting on that old comfy jumper, it could be improved on in places but all in all it just does the job fine and with no fuss.

Take the cable car up to the mountain at santa Catarina. It is very pretty, good walking and a nice place to go.

This little town sits at the bottom of the Gavia pass. There are many recreational activities that you can do from Santa Caterina year round. The hiking in June was amazing. No crouds, no cars, just you and the beautiful landscape filled with glaciers

We were surprised that Villa Taranto was open as last time we were in Stresa, villa Taranto had suffered bad storm damage. It was supposed to have lost thousands of specimens but we decided to go despite this. It was wonderful. It is still jam packed with plants and trees; there is a very good trail to follow and the walk around the Villa is highly enjoyable. If you like gardens and being outside, this is a must.

It's a helluva trek to get there but well worth it. The local people are friendly and the prices reasonable. One doesn't feel as if one is being "Ripped off". The lift system was upgraded several years ago, and there's plenty of ski-ing to keep us occupied. Generally, the snow is always good there as the village is quite high and the slopes are north facing.

Very beautiful place. And good quality snow. Lived in Santa Caterina in January 2013. In Bormio was +14C and there was almost no snow. While in Santa Caterina was winter. The ski area is small. But ski trails are very comfortable. The most beautiful area is on Cresta Sobretta.

A friendly, small hospitable resort in a lovely location. Good for families and friends who don't want a lively and noisy resort.

Excellent! The runs at Santa Catarina were of the best sort and all within easy reach of a restaurant facilities for a quick lunch break or morning coffee. The resort is modern and the lifts are all quick and superbly situated within easy reach of the pistes.

I love Bormio but Santa Caterina is where we found the untracked powder!Nice smaller area with some great side-country skiing (off piste). Bormio was getting tracked up fast so we made the short trip up the road to find some fresh tracks!
