This is a beautiful piazza, and it's so unique given its history with the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. It looks lovely at night and there's always a nice crowd with places to get gelato and a bite to eat.

Huge piazza with fantastic view. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants around, and you can enjoy good Italian coffee with view on Adriatic sea....

We were there for New Year's Eve. It was quite an event. We had dinner at the Harry's Grill so it was great to watch all the event from the glass walls/windows. I would not mix with the crowd. It was really full and crazy. But that is just me. People seemed to be having a lot of fun with the music and show.

A very good place to visit in Trieste. It is a big piazza with lots of bars and restaurants around, in summers it is full of people.

This square, the largest straight ahead of the sea in Italy, it's amazing if you are in the center and you turn slowly you can see most of the beautiful buildings of the town, that are looking the adriatic sea. Don't forget to be there by night otherwise you will regret....

Beautiful son and lumiere show over building facade. The athmosfere was incredibily magic with all the square coloured with lights.

The piazza is at the heart of Trieste and would be lovely at any time of year. Surrounded by neoclassical palaces, facing the sea, it's a popular gathering place. But the laser light show on the palace that houses the city government is enchanting. We came across it by accident, and the light show with the music was mesmerizing. I can't forget the scene and would return to Trieste just to see it again.

Great bars and restaurants litter the piazza, beautifully lit in the evenings, and a warm place to be (except in January, when it's freezing).

Constructed directly on the shores of the gulf of Trieste as a showcase for the former Austrian government the piazza is the largest on water in Europe. The surrounding buildings are stupendous, in particular the former palace of the royal governors with it' gilded mosaics! Well worth a visit and a coffee at one of the outdoor café!

Fantastic view! Incredible in the night with the view of the Faro in the distance! Beautiful, wanna go back! I saw this first in a movie and was always curious, being there is just great!

This is one of the biggest piazza in Itali, maybe in Europe. The view is really amazing, because it is beside the see, surrounded by grand old building, cafes, restaurants...

The scale and grandeur of the piazza and the ornate architecture are a dream. I was reminded of the best parts of Budapest.

Pretty great in size. Decorated buildings with splendid ornaments. On the Christmas time they have a Christmas tree and Jesus's birth scene. Supplemented by a couple of caffès where you can stop and have a cup of coffee with a view to Adriatic sea.

I have spent alot of time in this Piazza: we used it as meeting point, as place to drink a coffee or to have a special pistachio gelato. When Bora comes, you can finally take a picture of it being totaly empty cause no one or almost no one ventures outside.

Visit day or night you will be rewarded with being able to see a beautiful square. Is easy to find and wont take long to walk around.
