Very old, but very nice. Pitty that they don't have enough money for the restauration, but I hope one day they will have enought to save this wonderful church.

I like to visit Churches if they are different. And this one offers the largest manual organ with very impressive pipe system and an opportunity to climb the tower and have an impressive panoramic view from above.

Lanka_Latvia

I have used it myself several times and have brought our guests over - to climb up the steeple of the church and to enjoy the views of the city from above. A really remarkable site.

Liked the view from the top of the tower, and old clock mechanism inside the tower.Disliked the stairs to the tower.

Lanka_Latvia

A definate must visit if you fancy the rooftop views and a historic excursion while you're climbing up the church steeple. One of the largest mechanical organs in the world, very well preserved and views to remember.

in summer you can get to the tower and see the city from upside down. Inside i don`t see anything special, the organs are one of the biggest in Europe.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral is one of the main symbols of Liepāja. Built by a (Lutheran) German congregation in the 18th Century, its is built in Baroque style, and still has German services every Sunday. The organ in this church has an interesting story, and is the biggest (in terms of numbers of pipes) mechanical organ in the world. It also has the largest altar-piece in Latvia. Definitely worth climbing the tower to get an idea of the local city/landscape. All in all, a monument to the Baltic Germans and their opulence (unusual as a Lutheran church in this respect). Sadly, the exterior is decaying, but it doesn't reflect the interior beauty of this church

The Holy Trinity Cathedral houses the world's oldest and I believe largest mechanical pipe organ. It's very impressive and if you have the opportunity to hear it played - it's a must!

It is impressive church, in white and gold, with world's largest mechanical organ. If I remember correctly from the tour guide- this church was built thanks to donations from Germany, for German society living in Liepaja those days. If you manage to get there during season you can walk up the stairs to the top of the church tower, where the whole city lies by your feet. This church tends to host musical event with beautiful music, and quire singing, but the main event is international organ music festival which I had that luck to attend. It was getting some face lift when i was there, so I can only imagine how beautiful it looks now. Definitely I will go and see it again when I am there next time.

In Liepaja you must go to the Holy Trinity Church to hear the world's largest mechanical organ. The church has great acoustics so the experience will be unforgettable. Here is the link with a map how to find the church.http://famouslatvia.com/largest-mechanical-organ/
