daugavpils regional and art museum

This museum visit was quite strange experience, although it is normal public museum and I didn't took guide - all the time I was followed by museum employer. Even more - there is very complicated plan of exhibition halls and without such "following employer" you can't even find everything. Some rooms are closed and this employer specially opened them for me. Actually I didn't like this situation, because I felt uncomfortable that this person needs to wait until I see everything (she really looked bored), and it was stupid feeling that she didn't say almost anything except "Did you see everything?" before leaving one room for the next one. Uh, I didn't felt like in a museum but in some bank's deposit box places where every step is monitored. Maybe in larger company the visit is more fun from this point.This museum is very Soviet-style, even some info papers near exhibition items are still left the old ones printed with a typewriter.Beside it all I really liked the nature exhibition, the city historical exhibition where is info about ancient Latgalians and their castles, also the new art nouveau room is pretty nice :)

Interesting place to know more about the history of Daugavpils - from the foundation of the Dinaburg castle to nowadays. Lots of documents, pictures and coins or medals. There are also a little collectioh of modern art and temporary exhibititions (but no more Rothko, as they have been transferred to the new museum in the fortress).One remark though, there's not a lot in English...

Il museo è situato al centro della città, è molto economico, e diviso su due piani. Parla della storia delal città ripercorrendola sotto vari punti di vista con abiti e armature,documenti,monete e manoscritti per poi passare al piano superiore dove vi è una parte faunistica con animali imbalsamati nel loro habitat naturale. Questa è la parte che mi è piaciuta di più. Insomma davvero carino e consigliato anche per i bambini. In una due giorni a Daugavpils questo museo è da visitare

Экспонаты этого музея отражают историю нашего города. Регулярно проводятся и выставки частных коллекций. Например, замечательная выставка серебряных изделий . Выставляются картины местных художников. Огромное количество посетителей бывает в ночь музеев, когда там появляется еще и местное привидение. Интересно даже детям. Гостям города настоятельно советую посетить этот музей, здание которого является тоже местной достопримечательностью.
