sv ducha (church of the holy ghost)

The church tower at Sv Ducha (Church of the Holy Ghost) is visible from everywhere in Telc and a visit to the church is a must see in this picturesque town. The inner courtyard is open yet it is difficult to gain entrance beyond that. The gardens are quite pretty and the architectural work is well done overall. It's remarkable preservation of a building over 700 years old.

Church of the Holy Ghost: (tower of St. Spirit from the first half of the 13th century, 49 m high) the originally Romanesque Church of the Holy Ghost is the oldest preserved historical building in Telč. It was enlarged in 1414, when the town hospital was added, and reconstructed in the Gothic style at the end of the 15th century. At the end of the 18th century it was closed and then it was used as a town theatre in the middle of the 19th century. It was renewed after the First World War. The tower dominates the cityview. So the tower is easy to find, the church itself not at all. We meandered through streets, the tower in sight and whitout finding the church itself. By luck and not affraid to speak Czech language, I found the desired spot. Next to the entrance of the tower (one can climb it for a small fee and admire the panorama over Telč) ther is an Inn with an outside seating. If one asks overthere to see the church, one of the staffmembers opens a large wooden door. Through the glass one can have a glimps of the interior.

昼休みが長い教会だなとは思ってました。午後の営業時間になりすぐに行きましたが閉まったままでした。待てども待てども開きません。おかしいと思ってガイドブックを読み返してみたら、自分が行った曜日は営業していませんでした。営業している曜日は週３日程度です。どうしても行きたいならば事前に営業している曜日まで確認してから行きましょう。非常に残念でした。閉まっていても外からは眺められますが、やはり物足りなかったです。

Высокая колокольня возвышается над площадью и городом. Может служить ориентиром, если вы точно не знаете, в каком направлении двигаться к площади.
