Nice climb to the top, rewarded by some great views of CB. Worth the 30czk admission and 30 mins of your time
We walked up ALL those stairs for fun. Great views and photos. And we started to walk down at mid-day!!! Well, just then the big bell started ringing. Deafening, and exciting also. The whole place shook. What a memorable experience!
Stunning view of the old tower is a great thing, but the clockwork inside is amazing. I couldn't stop watching it and try to understand how it works for a long. Enjoy!
There are not that many tourist attractions in Ceske Budejovic. This and the town hall are probably the best in the old town. We had a clear day, so could see down into the old town, the town square and out past Hluboka nad Vltavou. The tower is 72 m high. The steps are steep, and on at least three occasions head clearance is very limited. Also, the steps are narrow. Take care; a nun, ahead of me, slipped down three or four steps on the way down.Views are OK. The best part was the history of the tower. A copy of this is available to read (in English and German too) in the shop at the top. Perhaps there should be more information available at different points on the way up.
Giving the opportunity to have a great view to the surroundings, well maintained... worth to visit..
For just 30 crowns you can climb this beautiful tower and watch the city from a different position! A good experience!
Černa Věž (Black Tower) in Ceské Budějovice is well worth the visit. It is 225 steps to the top, but the views are amazing from the top. However, more impressively in my opinion, the steps are in such a way that climbing the tower is an adventure in itself. There are about 6 floors on the way up, including to bell rooms housing 4 bells in total. Definitely worth the 30 Kč (£1) charge.
A must-do activity! There are a lot of steps, but several stopping points on the way up. Excellent views of the town and surrounding countryside make the climb really worthwhile. There is a little shop at the top where you can purchase hand drawn postcards and have them stamped with the Black Tower symbol. These make lovely gifts to send home.
Always go up any tower in any town, this is one of my favourites. The walk up is via seemingly random wooden staircases at all angles rather than the usual spiral staircase, so great fun to get to the top.
beautiful view to the whole city, you can enter every day, the entrance is just for two euros so we can fully recommend it
Being a great fan of seeing as far as possible, I greatly enjoyed the view I could take in from this tower - it's always interesting to see what lies behind the immediate center, and the Black Tower offers this unique perspective of České Budějovice. It's very much worth the climb.
Climb the 230 steps to the top of the Black Tower to enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Ceske Budejovice.
Incredible views from the top of the tower, Interesting history of the building. It is a long way up steep stairs to the top, not for the feint hearted.
if you like to have nice view around Ceske Budejovice, go on this Tower. Itś cheap and you will see all Ceske Budejovice from one place.
although the climb to the top of the tower may tire some, the view at the top is worth viewing. although the day was cloudy, the views were beautiful
