If you like non-technical climbs, this is a good one. It takes about 1 1/2 hours if you're in good shape; and the first hour is a tough, uphill climb. The upper meadow path is glorious in the spring and the set of stairways to the final summit is excellent exercise.

The magical and one of the famous mount in the Slovak Carpathians. According the legend there are slipping knights inside of the mount to help people in Slovakia. The highest point of the Stiavnicke vrchy Mountains is the erosion rest of the Tertiary lava. There are the oldest observation tower in the region with fantastic view. In the southern slope we can find the ruin of medieval castle.

Sitno ist ein 1010 m hoher Berg in der Slowakei, zu erreichen auf einem leichten Wanderweg von der Stadt Banska Stiavnica aus. Auf einer durschschnittlich anspruchsvoller halbtagigen Tour kommt man auf einem Weg mit einer natürlichen und kulturell-historischen Landschaft vorbei. An der Spitze Sitno erwartet Sie eine viereckige Holzhütte, wo man Getränke, Eis, Bier etc. kaufen kann. Von hier aus bietet sich ein wunderschönes Panorama. Es gibt auch ein ziemlich heruntergekommenes Gebäude hier zu sehen, das einmal vielleicht ein Hotel oder Jugendherberge war. Ein beliebter Zielpunkt von Wandergruppen in der Umgebung.
