Requires crossing some streams, but a great day hike and level walk. Eventually you will be stopped by a border guard, at which point you go back where you came.
I was 20 years old trunks valley view and is still eager to go and see the place and remember the years that impression Truso
First, how to get there (for cars) as this info is difficult to be found in the travel books and you can only dream that you will find some road signs :) you have to go to Kobi village, going from Stepancminda, turn right into valley (50 m before police/112 station). Then you will have two roads, one that will go over the river (on the right side) is the dead end road for now as after another 6-7 km you will find that they is a bridge under the construction, so now more road for cars. Potentially you can walk other the "temporary" bridge but is was not that brave. Other solution, turn left after first 2-3 km, the "one way" road will go up, reaching 2232 m above the sea level, and then will deeply go down to the valley. Then depending on the weather you will reach some villages :) (the most problematic could be wide natural rivers that you will need to cross :)) but a lot of FUN!
If you're tried of hiking, climbing and sweating your way through the views of the Caucasus, a stroll through Trusso valley is a nice way to relax. The path is flat and broad, and while the view is not as breathtaking as in some of the tougher hikes, it gives a nice glimpse of rural, off-the-track Georgia. We asked our driver to drop us at the end of the trail (a Georgian military roadblock prevented us to go further), and the just walked back almost until Kobi which is the village at the beginning of the trail. The valley is about 15 minutes drive in a very old Leda south of Stepantsminda.
