The area is very clean compared to places like that in the states. Lots of shops and entertainment in the area. People of Galway are so nice and helpfull
I came here with my wife to watch the sun setting over the Irish coast and I was not disappointed with my surroundings. I had a very clear view of the islands off of Galway. There were locals walking their dogs, out for runs and enjoying Spring in Ireland. Excellent place for people watching.
I run this weekly and I love it. One of the best things about the city and deserved to be walked from end to end on beautiful sunny evening
We stayed at the Salthill Hotel and walked along the promenade most mornings. It was extremely windy most days (30-40 mph winds), but definitely a beautiful view. Just be prepared! We got lucky one morning when it was sunny and not so windy and could go down onto the beach.
For a Mild-cold day its BRISK" for a summers day its beautiful, you can bring anyone down this walk and they would feel great afterwards!
Well it was the end of February, so not too surprising. Not really a great deal to see on a day like that. Have a drink in the bar and lament the poor weather.
The Salthill Prom is famous because of songs that mention it but in fairness, it's just a nice promenade walk. OK, it's part of the 'Western Walk Way' and you can watch the sun go down on Galway Bay every (sunny) day but it's still just a nice walk
Such a beautiful area. Refreshing Atlantic breezes and breathtaking landscape. Beautiful city and one of our favourite destinations.
Absolutely gorgeous especially on a nice day. Gorgeous scenery and kept really clean. Great places to stop and eat across the road
On a clear day you can see clear across Galway bay. It also gives you a beautiful view of the city on your return.
It is what it is a nice long walk lovely views of the sea and county Clare. Few lovey stretches of beach.
Visited at the weekend lots to do and see, enjoyed walking along the rocks, lots of places to eat and amusements there too.
I always have to walk the prom when I get to galway. It's a class place to be with a lovely atmosphere. Normally clean but there was some dog dirt the last time I was there. Yuk! And afterwards there's loads of coffee places to visit.
Salthill itself was very pleasnt for this time of year with plenty of shops, pubs and tea rooms and of of course the views across Galway Bay were breathtaking.
vastly improved n not before its time.never had a beach here for years but now there are several.congrats galway city council.
