值得游览,记得带手电筒哦!有两个洞可以参观,只有北洞有英语导游,必须跟团参观。洞里常年11度,适合冬天游览。带小小孩的就不要去了,婴儿车推不起来,小朋友怕黑会哭。

Dear MauriceAG,Thank you for writing this review! Great that you have brought your friends from Norway! We hear that a lot of our visitors are from the Maastricht Region, but have never visited the Caves (or Casemates / Fort St. Pieter). Good to hear that you thought the tour was fun and interesting!Kind Regards,The Maastricht Underground Team
Dear Connorsdad09,We are sorry to hear that your Caves experience and expectations did not measure up. We hope that you had the time to ask your questions at the guide afterwards. There are special tours in English and German though. If you would like to visit us again, please contact us directly via info@maastrichtunderground.nl. We would also be happy to send you some extra background information about the Caves in English or German! Kind Regards,The Maastricht Underground Team
Dear Shmaggle,Thank you for visiting us and writing this review! Good that you mention that people with limited mobility may struggle with the climb up from the boat to the cave entrance. We do provide other possibilities for these guests (please contact us via info@maastrichtunderground.nl). We hope you and your children had a nice time in Maastricht and the Caves! Kind Regards,Team Maastricht Underground
My husband and I recently went on the English tour of the St. Pietersburg caves. We were both quite impressed! I have only visited natural caves, so it was interesting to see a man-made cave. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and humourous, as well. The tour provided a unique look into the history of Maastricht, as we learned about limestone mining and the use of the tunnels during WWII. There are some fabulous charcoal drawings in the caves, as well! The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I felt the tour was too short. I wish they had offered a longer tour. By the way, there is a small cafe on the premises which has excellent food!
I study in Maastricht, but I take anyone who comes for a visit on this tour. It is a very interesting tour. It is a combination of an adventure with history. The tour guides are funny and well prepared they keep people engaged. The nice thing about these tours is that they are elaborate. Each time a guide feels like telling you something new or taking you to a new part of the tunnels. You will never get bored as there is always something to learn more.
Even though I live in Maastricht, whenever I receive visitors, we always come to visit the caves. The caves at St.Pietersberg and the guided tour offer a great insight into the history of Maastricht. Thanks to tours also being conducted in English, I don't have to translate which lets me enjoy the tour and learn something new every time I go.The view from the St.Pietersberg is also very nice to look across Maastricht. I highly recommend the tours to get a good understanding about the area.
so very interesting...hiding place since the very early times of Maastricht. See 30th Infantry and other wall paintings. Tour of caves can be scary and very-very dark!
The Caves were the highlights of my trip to Maastricht. The tour guide was very entertaining, which made the exploring of the caves even more fun! Unfortunately only one of the caves was open when I visited.
My daughter and I really enjoyed the English speaking guide. We were so interested in the history of the caves and the guide was very informative. My daughter carried one of the lanterns for a while and I was asked to open the vault where the paintings were stored during world war II. I would highly recommend.
We bought a combination ticket for the Fort & Northern caves. Our tour guide was Ed. It was very interesting to have the tour with him, as he not only explains what is to be seen, but adds with his knowledge of history and humor.
Tour is taken from same place as the tours for the fort. Took an English speaking tour which lasted about an hour. A long and varied past, which started with the mining of stone. I got the impression that there's so much to see that the tour guides vary each tour to suit. Not the sanitised over-protective environment of similar attractions in the UK, with uneven floor and limited lights for the group. A walk in the pitch black was also an interesting experience. We did a joint tour along with the fort.
We did a combined (guide) tour though the fort and the (artificial) caves. Although the sights aren't that spectacular, it's still fun and interesting. The guide was really enthusiastic and had a lot of knowledge, which made the tours worth while. We bought a combined ticket for both the fort and the Northern Caves. 10 euros per person. Pretty good value for money because each tour takes about an hour.
