My husband and I brought some guests to eat at the Santiago Castle and the food was incredible! Unfortunately we were too late to tour the castle itself, however the restaurants sits in the courtyard of the castle! I only wish they had some music playing somewhere for the perfect ambiance. Some of the best food I have had in Spain.

Worth a visit! You will need to be quite fit as there are lots of stairs to the turret ! Best visited outside August .

very interesting for people who like maps, there is a beautiful display of ancient maps from all over, in French, Spanish, Portuguese etc..ItThe best place to see all of Sanlúcar. Do not miss it!

Did not go in castle as it was closed but did eat evening meal in the castle restaurant which was very good, prices and choice very good, quite a unique experience to eat in 500 year old building.

Castle has been restored well and the views form the top are extensive across the town and over to the Coto Donano national park.

We were fortunate to have a local historian as a guide and so she made the place come alive to us. Just the large collection of ancient maps is worth the small 6 Euro entry fee. The views from the tower over the city are really wonderful!

The castle doesn't make itself too attractive from the main entrance, but go inside, as it's a Tardis! Just €5 each, and well worth it, if only for the views from the top of the tower, and the large balcony area below it. Fascinating old maps abound, and the guides (Spanish speaking, English not so good) were very helpful, although it's self-guided. The museum of costumes and dress at the end is also worth a visit. Bar is also worth a drink, overall a pleasant and truly interesting experience.

The main reason why it is worth visiting is the view from the tower. You may see the mouth of Guadalquivir, Donana Park and of course panorama of Sanlucar

This late 1400s castle, named in honor of St James, is located in the middle of town. Admission gives you the opportunity to tour some of the castle grounds as well as climb up the castle tower. During the climb, there are several floors where you can stop and look at exhibits. At the top are lovely views of Sanlucar de Barramenda, Donaña National Park, and the Guadaquiver River flowing into the Atlantic ocean. There is a window partway up the climb where Queen Isabella first saw the ocean. There is also a very nice restaurant located in a couple of rooms in the castle where they serve very good, and reasonably priced food. Well worth while.
