I have played this course twice with my son, a student at UGA. It has been very quiet on both occasions, almost no one was playing. The course is fairly challenging, especially the 12th hole! The greens are in decent shape. I love the bulldogs at the tee box! There are many specimen trees and nice plantings along the course. It cost us about $45 each to play 18 holes. I will definitely play this course again.
The course layout was redone a few years ago by Davis Love design. Greens are severely undulated and being bent grass are very quick. Course has hills and some blind shots. It was one of the highest scored courses in relation to par on the Web.com Tour. Beautiful in the Spring around Masters time. A great course in North Georgia.
Played here for the first time. Greens were in great shape but the fairways had a lot of disease or damage. Still, a beautiful course. I wouldn't play here without a discount offer.
This is definitely one of the nicest golf courses in the area. If you've got the $, check it out. The range and putting/chipping greens are great.
Nice course built in the '60's. Small clubhouse has display of all of the Georgia golfers who've gone to the PGA.
Most of our group is from Florida and are not used to the hilly terrain. The fairways were plush, and the greens were smooth and fast. The green fees were reasonable and the facilities were nice. There was no beverage cart, but a small snack bar at the turn was fine.
I had the opportunity to play the course in a tournament, and was a bit disappointed to be honest. The course was in okay condition, nothing special. Like most courses in the south, winter-kill was visible In many areas and the greens were just fair. Because the greens are bent grass, fans were going every hole to keep them from burning out which just became annoying after awhile. The layout is also nothing special. Many holes seem to run together with none standing out above the others. I will say however that the entire staff throughout the course was excellent. My day at UGA was by no means bad, just a little disappointing considering the course is considered one of the top 5 places you can play in Georgia.
We were here for a tournament. This is a beautiful, well manicured golf course. Very challenging greens. Nice layout. Very friendly staff in the snack bar.
A friend and I played the course in early October prior to the LSU game. We were the 2nd group and basically had the course to ourselves. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the course was in excellent shape. Not being use to bent grass green, it took the front nine to adjust. If a putt missed was the back, it was not the fault of the greens! Great time, great venue, great value.
This is a great golf course, but have a problem with starting people on tenth tee. Have gone twice to play eighteen, when we have had to get a rain check because starter let multiple groups in front of us before we made the turn. I would schedule 5 hours for a round.
outstanding layout in perfect condition at a very reasonable price. worth driving from Atlanta (about 75 miles) to play for the day.
The University of Georgia course is one of the nicer golf courses you can play in the Athens area and you don't have to spend a fortune to do it.The course has a nice layout and the fairways and greens are usually in good shape. It presents some challenging shots while still being enjoyable for players of all skill levels.
Home course of the GA Bulldogs, this is one of the better college courses you can readily play. Dave Cousart does a great job with the facility and the staff. It is host to a web.com tour stop in May. Come play the course the pros play.
the course is open to the public and is generally well maintained. the open layout is very forgiving but the greens are some the hardest to read in the area. they host the PGA minor tour event every year and do a great job.
A very challenging course. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Nice driving range and practice area. Even thought the golf course & range are seperated. You have to drive your cart up the entrance road to get to the driving range.
