This is a great park and has evolved over the years. In 1980 Fayette county was just starting to grow. Peachtree City was established but an appreciation for the rest of the county had just begun. We started a girls softball league and didn't have a regular place to play. The place now known as McCurry Park did not exist. Some of my fellow pioneers know people at the county offices and told us we could use the land for softball fields. Almost no money was there to help us. We built 3 fields and got the girls started. I was involved with it for almost 10 years with my daughters and even after they were to old to play. The initial lighting was contributed and we also got telephone poles donated to put the lights on. As things developed and people started some pressure on the county, they got involved and put in a baseball field, then the soccer fields, then the football field and all of the fencing. Now it is a complete park with eye appeal and a super nice place to visit if your kids play ball or if you just want a nice walk or to relax in the shade.
This is still a great park to take children! There is so much space to run around and the play areas seem to be holding up well.
This park is mainly used for sports (i.e soccer, baseball) so there isn't much to do here. The walking path is small and mostly in the sun. But it's a nice little park for some outdoor fun. It's safe and clean.
My kids have played football and soccer here! It is also a great place to jog or run around the track. There are playgrounds for the little ones and walking trails.
very nice park great walking trails, 3 playgrounds, ballfields so very crowded when games are being played, dic golf course
