We've been here several times as it is very close to our home. Walking the trails with our dogs (on leash) has always been enjoyable. This is not a large nature center so everything can be seen in less than 2 hours. also, the trails are not that long so they qualify as a stroll rather than hike. The down side, is that, having been here about 5 times, I have never visited when the exhibits were open. Exhibit hours seem quite limited so check beforehand.

Not all that big but you can't beat the nature. I wish they had a little more to do but you can't please everyone.

A wonderful forest preserve with a flowing creek bottom, great forest paths. Heavily wooded enclave in Johns Creek with rustic but well constructed picnic shelters and tables.

It was a lovely little park with marked and unmarked trails or walks. It's conveniently located right off Old Alabama Road between Jones Bridge & Medlock Bridge Roads. It's good for people like me, who, because of back pain issues, cannot do a real long or mountainous hike.

This site contains a lovely hike just perfect for a two-year old, complete with sticks to hold and a creek to cross. We saw a towhee as well as other birds, deer tracks, and a few spring windflowers. Little boys spent a while feeding the two resident ducks, and carried on quite a conversation with them.

Aurty Mill Nature Center is a wonderful development allowing those who like to cycle, run, roller blade or walk to do so in the quiet feel of nature. Extremely expansive so you can meet numerous people but you don't feel crowed.

Beautifully and lovingly restored historical buildings from the area include a turn of the century farmhouse, a small chapel, sharecropper's cabin and more. Hike the forest trail and be amazed at the age of this forest... great for kids and families. Bring your well behaved dogs on leashes.

The whole area is very well maintained. It's not huge, but big enough for casual hiking. There is a nice creek running through it that's excellent for skipping rocks. The exhibits and historic buildings are very small, but nicely done.

My wife and I, septuagenarians, love the trails and the serenity. For a relatively easy hike/walk through an historic farm, with well-preserved and documented buildings and sites, it is a welcome asset in suburban Atlanta, providing a taste of Georgia's not-so-distant agrarian past.

My wife and I started with the River Trail, and enjoyed a few quiet, peaceful moments alone with God's creation! We also saw two deer while we were on the trail! The trails are fairly well maintained, the bridges are still in good condition, and nature is always quiet and peaceful!

I just moved to the area so I have been exploring all the trails around here. This one is very chill, and easy to navigate (they have reusable maps you can take with you, plus numerous posted maps as well). It has a creek running around it and the wooden bridge path is very nice. My pup loves to get in the creek and splash around, and it's about two miles of trails round trip, so nothing too strenuous. It's a quick easy walk in the nice shaded forest.

My wife and I wanted to try some place new for walking around and we found it. There isn't anything particularly amazing about the trail, but it is quiet, well wooded, and not busy.

Short hiking trails (circular), animal (reptiles) center with live exhibits (check schedule for feeding times 1x monthly). They also house 2 ducks in a small pond. Great picnic areas through out. Their Halloween party for children and families is wonderful, creative, great fun. They also rent out the place for weddings. They have their own chapel and a very nice farmhouse. There is no playground here (go to Newtown Park for that). Whenever I come here, I feel as if I went on a day trip to the country. My dogs love it too.

This is a relaxing place in which to meander and witness local history. I love all the preserved artifacts and natural settings. I especially enjoy the trail by the large creek and it's never crowded!

This place really lives up to its name "Nature Preserve" - if you want to go to a little peace of heaven and feel like you are one with nature, this is the place to go. It is peaceful, and it has some easy hikes that even small children can do. Beautiful trees, streams and creeks.
