This was our 3rd trip to Stone Mountain first for Snow Mountain. We (my family) LOVE LOVE LOVE Stone Mountain so much. We enjoyed Snow Mountain as well but it needs some work. The lines are long and you only have a 2 hour window to go tubing. Which means we only got to go 6 times in the 2 hours 3 single and 3 family. As well they have the worst policy on taking pictures. No employee will take one and the ones they had taken of us on the family tube were all blurry which was disappointing. It is a beautiful fun place and families want family pictures. The mighty dollar is not the end all be all Snow Mountain. Disney employees even take pictures for you on your own camera.
We loved the show. Totally different than a german Lasershow. It was sooo coool. Only the moskitos where a bit of a hassle but besides that, the kids and adults loved it.
The environment is great for a picnic with family and friends. The laser show is great. This was an outing for my church - we had an enjoyable evening.
Do not miss this! check the park website for their schedule. Love the show during the summer months, I have seen it every year for 15 year and still love it!
The laser show has been vastly improved since our last visit. It is really something to see, and worth hanging around for at days' end. As of Oct., 2014 they were adding new seating, and making other improvement that will make your experience more enjoyable.
Good for Kids!!!!!Show : Sequencing of story board is excellent, but it lacks effect of lasers and music.Music: The Speakers are not that great it lacks the bass... they have to plan for more speakers and subwoofers as its huge lawn.Dont forget to have a blanket or folding chairs. The Laser show is free but, $10 parking fee to enter the Park.
This is a great local attraction, especially for kids and out of town guests. It's a rather unique event and it gives you a chance to see historical Stone Mountain. I've been a handful of times and it's never boring! The show changes every year. The admission is free once you pay for parking. Not a bad deal, so fill your car up with people and check it out!
My husband and I took a trip to Stone Mountain Park in celebration of Independence Day. We spent the day at the park and them parked our lawn chairs for the Lasershow Spectacular! It was so awesome! I had never seen a laser show before, so I was taken away. THEN come the fireworks - which were epic! I have been to many fireworks shows, but never one of this magnitude. We left excited and satisfied. We plan on taking the whole family next year! Cheap and fun-filled trip! I uploaded a few videos from our trip to YouTube, if interested. This lightshow is a must-see if you visit the park. The music is a fun compilation that is fun and patriotic. Children and adults alike will enjoy this mix of music that includes country, rock, religious,& patriotic. I recommend taking a blanket to save your spot before the show begins. Lots of people have a picnic while watching the show.
The lasers synchronizing with the music was great. And you cant go wrong with a grand finale of fireworks.
Probably would have been cool in the early 80's, but a bit cheesy to enjoy in a high-tech era today.
Read up about the technology on their website. Very impressive. But the tacky cartoons for some songs are embarrassing compared to the elaborate ones. Choice of songs pretty bad... they are obviously trying to include every musical genre. Get there early for best seats. Bring blankets or chairs. Avoid end of the season when they build a mountain of snow that blocks the views. Rent one of the many private patios (in advance) for good views and 'free' popcorn&drinks.
No one in our group of four enjoyed the show. In fact, we left early. It was basically just of poorly drawn animations projected on the side of the mountain. You can see a video online of the entire show to see what you are in store for. However, the park itself was beautiful. Just skip the laser light show...
What a show, for free! Well worth the time, inspiring, patriotic and well done. Snow Mountain being constructed so seating on the lawn was not available; get there early for good viewing spots as lots of people there, even for mid-October.
What a great show, and you can even get a shuttle ride from campground. Must see while visiting....!
