The park is overall a great place. The mountain itself is a geological hit, the carving is great (and its history is interesting too). We were unlucky to go there with an overcast sky and we were immersed in a thick fog with no visibility on top of the mountain. But I bet the place is great with fair weather.

We were in awe at the size and detail of the carving. We were there during Christmas and the carving was lit up at night. I've been to Mount Rushmore and this is even cooler. Our children were amazed at the size of the carving.

This is a part of Stone Mountain that gives it the great historic look, no mater your feelings or beliefs.

This carving is what truly makes Stone Mountain unique! I would, however, recommend going to the movie about it in Freedom Hall to truly get an appreciation for the long, hard process it took to carve this image. All in all, this was a great experience!

It is a carving of great southern generals of the civil car on the side of the mountain. The art work is awesome. But it took away from the naturalness of the scenery.

I loved this place!!! I went When they had the snow park and the kids had so much fun. I bought the meal package in which you get access to the museum, skyride, mini golf, 4d movie, 2 hrs of snow tubing and a meal. I recommend to buy things separately. The meal there was disgusting. They hamburgers were tough and overcooked and the pizza was nasty. I did not care for the museum or the 4d theater. But the 2hr snow rides were so much fun and the stone mountain was amazing. Being on top of the stone mountain was so beautiful. Strongly recommend this park, definetly will be going back, except next time I will not buy the meals there (you can take food inside) and I won't do the museum (very little) or the 4d theater. I cannot comment on the mini golf because we ran out of time and to be honest I didn't even see it in the park.

Regardless of what one thinks of the civil war, and the roles that Jefferson Davis, 'Stonewall' Jackson and Robert E Lee played as civilian and military leaders within the Confederacy, the images of the three men carved on the mountain's face is undeniably stunning for its sheer size and lifelike detail. Indeed, it's the largest bas relief sculpture in the world and took almost 60 years to complete. And I wish I had known before visiting that Walker Hancock, the third of the project's four chief sculptors, was the same person featured for his work during World War 2 in the book that gave rise to the recent film 'The Monuments Men'.

This is an amazing carving on the side of the mountain. Not quite a Mount Rushmore sort of thing but a more intimate and sensitive sculpture. Well worth the trip to see.

It is great to give your family a lesson in southern history. This carving has been around for a long time and the kids were amazed at being able to see them so closely.

Snow Mountain didn't entertain the kids for long. The area was disappointing. The whole Stone Mountain park and concessions were completely unorganized and not well planned out. The park employees didn't seem to know much about the park. The best part was the Sky Ride and hiking the trail to the top of the mountain.

While the bas-relief carving on Stone Mountain was very impressive and beautiful, I felt like I was at a amusement park that was dispensing confederate propaganda and kiddie fun. We went to the stone to find out about its geology and hike and enjoy the out doors. What we found was a carnival atmosphere and everything had a pricetag. Our six member group either needed an individual $28 day pass to go to the bathroom or go one at a time; into an area that had shops and restaurants ... really? Want to hike, to get to the free paths you needed a pass ... really? Decorate Christmas cookies ... 6 bucks. Snow tubing 28 bucks. Skyline ... we never found out the price. Everything was very expensive and we only wanted to walk the trails and enjoy the scenery. Advice ... go prepared for a carnival ... take the kids ... you'll be fine.

The carving is "one of a kind" and very different than Mount Rushmore. If you take the tram, you get a bird's eye close view. Unlike the other tourist rides and attractions in the park, this is well worth seeing.

One of the best rock carvings I have ever seen. The mist was covering the top of the rock and rolling down over the top of the rock picture made it look very real. You really cannot grasp the true scale of the whole feature and the work involved in the carving.Good place to visit.

I love Stone Mountain. We went to the Christmas and Snow Mountain. You get two hours but there is only two slides to choose from. One is a single tube and the other is family. The family tube is a minimum of 3 people so if it's just you and another person you can ride it. If you purchase the meal deal they make you hold your cup the entire time you are there. We sat ours down to play putt-putt, it got picked up and we were told we had to go to customer relations to get another cup. Keep in mind this isn't even a souvenir cup. You do not need snow clothes, through on some rain boots and you will be fine. The Christmas lights are beautiful and shows are good but before you go look at the times. Everything starts around 3 and the shows fill up fast. Overall it is a great family time, just plan to stand in lines.
