anthem veterans memorial

A good friend and veteran sent us an article about the memorial and we realized it was not far from where we are staying. The next day we took a trip to visit the memorial. It's a beautiful work of art and engineering. Hopefully next Veterans Day we will be able to attend the ceremony. Both my wife and I and members of both sides of our families, past and present, have fought in every war from the Civil War to Afghanistan and Iraq. Our family members thank everyone who made this memorial possible to honor our veterans for their service.

My community has a lovely monument to honor our heroes. As an adult child of both parents that served in the Navy (WWII) , itt brings a smile each and every time I pass by.

The Anthem Veterans Memorial honors the men and women who served our nation in the United States Armed Forces. The Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and the Coast Guard are represented by five individual marble monoliths standing in formation. Each monolith has an elliptical opening that aligns with the next at a descending angle from high to low. The memorial also serves as a SUN CALENDAR that automatically denotes Veterans Day annually. At precisely 11:11 a.m., on November 11th, the sun is in perfect alignment with the five monoliths and casts a long shadow over the memorial bricks. At the exact same moment, the five aligned elliptical openings allow the sun to precisely illuminate the Great Seal of the United States.I congratulate the community of Anthem for creating a very unique (and solar powered) tribute to the men and women who have generously served and protected our nation.The Anthem Veterans Memorial is located in the very scenic Anthem Community Park, and is about 1 mile east of I-17 at 41703 N. A beautiful monument of respect to the men and women who served our country in a setting of one of the most beautiful parks here in the Phoenix area.

Four pilars aligned so that at exact moment of the first attack on the WTC every 9/11, the sun perfectly lights the emblem of the USA. An amazing design, honoring the four military services. A must see if you are in the area.

Veterans memorials and courthouses are quintessential American icons. Our Anthem Veterans Memorial is very well done and more names are showing up on bricks all the time. My father, Meyer D. Gilner is represented in the Memorial. Perhaps you have a friend or family member you would like to remember by donating to the Memorial. If not, just come out and spend a few minutes gazing and praying.

This is a very cool memorial. A must see if coming to Anthem.
