I went to The Blue Water Casino solely to see the King Tut exhibit. Based on that it was an excellent experience. The exhibit is a detailed walk through ancient Egypt and the Pharaohs. This focused mostly on King Tutankhamun. If you have any interest in history this is a must. It was definitely worth the drive. The exhibit is well lit and the info pieces accompanying each item are easy to read and comprehend. The lay out is a bit odd but still very easy to follow. The goal being that you see each piece. It is worth the price of admission, just ten dollars for seniors. The gift shop offers a few souvenirs and is worth checking out. The one draw back is that there is smoking allowed in the casino as you walk through to the room housing the exhibit! It was worth the return trip to Parker.
Did not see a lot of people making money! There was a bar available in the casino. Drinks are not free.
Had business in Parker, thought a water view and pool would be nice - hated the long walk through an incredibly smokey casino - especially in the morning after showering and getting word ready - and getting to the car smelling as if I had smoked a carton ... The view was beautiful, but the rooms, overpriced and more typical Motel 6ish. Pool looked dirty. Nice idea with the water slide - but had to listen to screaming children.
The casino is small, and the rooms are okay. This is a party place in the summer and they offer docks for your boat. I will say this, stay away from the bufffet, it is and pretty much always has been terrible. On the other hand, the fine dining restaurant on site called The River Willow is outstanding and pretty much the finest food you will find in Parker. Try the crab stuffed mushrooms!
I can say this was the worst buffet I have ever ate at. Hot dogs, hamburger, cold deli, and bake checken. None of which was edible. Sides were worse. Stay away. Send me 14 dollars, I'll send you some exlax. End result will be the same.
We come here at least once a year to do some kayaking and fishing on the Bill Williams Reserve. Rooms are clean and generally quiet. Food is basic food - not awful nor wonderful. We usually eat one meal at Stokes but it has become quite expensive - 5 miles down the road. Slots here are tight
Nice rooms, especially the ones up top with a balcony ( suites) very pricey most seasons, get one in Dec. better rates, casino is one BIG cigarette though.
I got a mailer for 2 complimentary nights and had been way overdue for a day away from my own job as a hotel mgr and decided to go check the rooms out since my fiancé and I had only experienced the casino side and usually go back to our establishment within a few hours. When we got there it was all going fairly well when we were asked for a credit card to "hold 50" and it would be released at check out. Normally I would totally agree with this since we do similar things as a standard, but generally its just that a formality and rarely have had to even hold funds unless a pet was involved. This trip was supposed to be complimentary and the last thing I was thinking about was having a spare 50 to be held . We were denied the room and well, I guess Im a little irritated that it was simply so cut and dry when they are already getting whatever cash I came with in the gaming, and when asked if they could check with the general mgr and see if possibly some leaway could be considered ESPECIALLY since we had already been called at home and told that we wouldn't have running water from midnight to 7 in the morning. We still came knowing we were gonna do without running water but they couldn't not hold 50 bucks? I was a bit embarrassed as I realized I wasent even going to see the room. I made a lot of arrangements to have my own hotel covered since I am onsite mgmment and haven't left our own property for a 24hr period in 3 yrs. Bit disappointed that there isn't a little more consideration to their customers. I may not be a Big Fish when it comes to the gambling circuit, but I know I have wasted way more $$ in play then the 50 they felt was needed to allow me to stay a night and stay without running water. We went home and have told the story way too many times . I hope in the future there is a bit more courtesy or consideration for some other little fish maybe they will get to decide if the rooms are nice or not for themselves
BW does not honor their free night stay mailers and the Staff is the most unfriendly people there is.
The casino seems small by comparison to those in the Phoenix area, but does have the most up-to-date slots, along with some of the good oldies. One can lose their money just as well here as any other casino. The hotel seems to sell-out quickly, so last minute reservations are tough to come by. The rooms are very nice, though, with great views of the Colorado River. Excellent value. The Blue Water Grille, however, is mediocre at best. Very institutional.
Better than expected for being from California, Restaurant - Willow was nice, clean good service, food took a little longer than expected but server was busy with too many table.
With all the advertising they do over the radio. Me and my wife figured why not go check it out.We was very disappointed. The casino is so small. As my wife said when you can stand at the door and look around and see every machine you know that is a small casino. The food is wayyyyyy over priced.More then half the machines labeled free play had their touch screens broken so in reality there was maybe 20 machines you could use free play on.In a way I am glad we went and saw this place because it made us thankful we live in Bullhead City Az. were we can visit real casinos in Laughlin Nv.I would not recommend Blue Water to anyone who is looking for a good gambling experience. But for a relaxing get away on the river it should do the trick.
The service is poor, most of the employees have an attitude of not caring about the job or you. While all of the rooms look out to the water, they are run down and dated (even after the "total renovation"). While I am not a gambler, I did wander around the machines and did not notice one that appeared to be winning or smiling. The food in the main casino is poor by any standards, poor cuts, poorly cooked, poorly served, etc. Everything was smokey, even the non-smoking rooms. The rooms are small, I am sure to make as much use as possible fro the footprint, but in a 2 bed room, once you get your luggage and people in the room, there is no room to move around. They do try to have everything there to keep you on the property (theater, different restaurants, mini golf, indoor pool and slide, woater activities), but should you venture off the property, you'll find yourself spening more time off property then on.
We loved the casino, great place to stay, great food, great people, would reccommend the casino and it's resort to anyone,we were there in Feb. don't know how it is in summer. Didn't do too much gambling, lost but again we were there because we wanted to golf in Parker, would go back to the casino resort part.
Not smokey, easy to get around and if you and your spouse/friends separate to play the games, it's easy to find each other again! Not large, but enough to keep you busy trying to win the 'big' one.
