Spacious. Serene. Beautifully landscaped and peaceful. But also whimsical as a college garden should be. Playful and tucked away. Get the message. Go rejuvenate.
Great place for photo shootOff the bike path a great place to stop unwind and check out the different plants and such
I enjoyed a peaceful walk through the gardens, happy to see the in-season plants were well watered and cared for - this is one of Missouri Botanical Gardens signature gardens. The benches provide a nice break. Enjoyed the bridge and the pond. It's just a great place to reconnect with nature close to the bike trails. What a beautiful place too for a small outdoor wedding. The Lantern looks so pretty when lit up at night, how nice they rent this.
I became familiar with the Gardens through my son's Boy Scout Troop. A number of our young men were able to complete their Eagle Projects in the Garden. It's a meaningful place for young people to make a major contribution which is likely to outlive them. The Gardens are a perfect place to stroll, sit and meditate, or plan an outdoor event. Amazing staff.
The very walkable garden is a lovely way to spend a bit of time. Relax, unwind and maybe learn a thing or two. The garden is a partnership between Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and the Missouri Botanical Garden.
Peaceful place to go for a short walk. Well kept, has places to sit and relax enjoy nature.Connects to bike path. Very nice.
The gardens at SIUE are an easy peaceful hike at any time of the year, We walked this late July and saw lots of deer. Also a great place for photographs.
The Gardens at SIUE is an excellent places for photographers, nature lovers & hikers! They have great trails for walkers & bikers. Every time I am out there with my daughter ( she is a photographer) there are always lots of people enjoying the gardens. There are bathroom facilities Monday- Friday.
A nice place to visit, take pictures, enjoy some quiet time in a beautiful natural surrounding. Take time out of your hectic day & just relax.
Excellent garden settings second only to the St. Louis Botanical Gardens in the area. Well worth the time to visit.
I love visiting the Gardens. It's a great place to hang out and relax for a while, and you can get some of the most amazing pictures taken here. So many people use the Gardens as the backdrop for wedding and other special occasion pictures.
In the center of the campus is The Gardens. A place for a nice walk and place to enjoy the scenery. If you geocache there are a few caches around also.
I went to school at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville for four years and had the great opportunity to watch the Gardens evolve. The have lovely areas for weddings and several walking paths the meander through the woods. One path will cross over a large wooden bridge and end in an asian inspired pergola overlooking a small pond. The Gardens are a branch of the Missouri Botanical Gardens and acquire more features each year, including new sculptures, new plants, more walking paths, and more resting areas.
Really nice flowers, some groves and some kinetic wind sculptures. The pond is full of turtles that are apparently used to being fed and there's a beautiful stone amphitheater next to the pond. Most of the walkway is paved. Kids were entertained by most of what there was to see. Free admission.
