kidswork children's museum

I love this place. Granted, I live close by. It's small and geared toward young children. $7 per person doesn't seem that high to me for admission. Although, I don't bring an ontourage of grandparents, aunts and uncles to watch my child play, as some of the other reviewers do. The museum is clean, colorful, and cheerful. There is plenty of room to explore and I think the exhibits are quite educational. My son's favorite are the Light Show, art station, and the playdoh table. As far as the staff that many reviewers complained about...I think they are courteous and doing their job. If you need help, they are available. No, they don't play with the kids. Isn't that our job as parents? I love to watch my son as he discovers and plays. I don't prefer strangers to hover while I'm spending time with my kid. I also don't believe it's their job to clean up after our children (another complaint many reviewers had). My son plays with an exhibit, then knows he must tidy it up in order to move on. That way, it is ready for the next child. Seems pretty basic to me! You are welcome to stay as long (or as little) as you like and wander upstairs and downstairs. If you go on a Friday, you can stay for the evening Fine Arts program (varies from week to week) without paying extra. Keep up the good work, Kidswork!

This museum is very low key and very geared to the younger child. A more quieter environment than other childre's museums. Nice exhibits, some that need to be updated somewhat. Nice art area - my granddaughter preferred the upstairs arts and crafts and "show" area. It proved to be a nice place for her 6 yr. old birthday party - kept every occupied and happy. Provides a nice afternoon without all the bustle of bigger museums.

Have been a member of the museum since it first opened. My son is now almost 7 and is aging out of many of the exhibits. Staff is always visible and very helpful which really lends itself to a sense of security without being overbearing. Some of the exhibits are showing their age and a more frequent rotation of displays and adding new things would help keep this place fresh. Not much to interest middle school and older kids. Great for toddlers, preschoolers, and those in the primary grades. Always clean and tidy.

My son is two and a half and he loves when I take him here! Great exhibits for his age range. The place is very clean and an overall great place to visit! Love the little gift shop they have. There is also a deli and an ice cream parlor in the same building which are great for grabbing a quick bite to eat or a treat before or after the museum.
