We have supported the team every year since they moved to this stadium in 2006.A great place for a family to have an outing! Decent prices for seats and an array of typical baseball concessions. The stadium is really a great asset for Rockford/Loves Park IL. Easily accessed from I-90 and E Riverside Blvd.
Good baseball stadium, excellent sidelines, good food but a little expensive but aren't all sports complexes. Close to the action and wonderful for young kids as good play areas and easy to meet the players.
I hate to say it, but they have really missed the mark on this one. They should not be pricing this just for corporate activities. It should be priced $7 for adults and $5 for kids or lower with no restriction on where you sat. First come first served. Who wants to go to a game with just a few other small groups of people all scattered around the place. They should price it for a sell out. Make people have to get tickets early. You'll make more money on concessions with more people. The seats cost you nothing. When you have a full stadium, it creates excitement. An empty stadium looks like no one else wants to be there either. The crowd looked bored.
We had a lot of fun at a double headed baseball game at the Aviators ball park. They had good food and a great mascot.
PROS: safe and abundant parking ($5 fee) ; clean and engaging sports entertainment; this is the inaugural season for the Rockford Aviators (formerly the Riverhawks). entertaining quarter games for obtaining old baseball bats that are signed by the team. there is a playground on site for little kids who need to expend energy. CONS: average food for a baseball park
The Rockford Aviators (formerly Riverhawks) baseball experience is always a family favorite for us. We love to attend about 5-6 games a season. If you attend a game that starts at 7:05pm during the "hot days" of summer and you don't want to get sunburned, I highly recommend that you sit in Section 110. Section 110 provides directly behind the Home team dugout and is provided some quick evening shade as the sun begins to set to the west. Prior to the new ownership, the "between inning" activities were very entertaining and they offered some great "promotional" programs. As of the 2013 season, the new promotional programs have diminished. No longer are they doing the "Sumo wrestlers" and "Lottery" promotion. This has reduced the "family fun" factor a bit, however, it is still a great time and we will continue to patronize. The staff is always friendly and we always feel welcome.
I've been to a couple games here. The team is fun to watch, and some Thursdays they have $1 beer night.
The names of the team and stadium may change, but the wonderful experience remains the same. Going to a Rockford Riverhawks home baseball game is more than just a game, it's an afternoon/evening full of entertainment. The players regularly interact with the fans, signing autographs and posing for family photos. The stadium is one of the best in the U.S., with a state of the art stadium, great seats no matter where you sit, good food and wonderful merchandise. Whether fireworks at the end of the game, or entertainment during the seventh inning stretch, you will enjoy a fun experience for the whole family. The free parking close to the entrance is also a major plus. Located just off the I-90 and Riverside, it's easy to enter and leave this wonderful ballpark.
My wife and I went. We had a wonderful time and even though they lost, it was fun experience. The price for concession we're a bit high but fun never the less.
Usually not crowded. I had the Time or my life. I got to throw out the first pitch last year and this year I got to go on the field and attemp dizzy bat. U have a chance at getting a foul ball because its not usually crowded I even got my ball autographed. Most tickets r only $5. Defiantly going back next year!
We like baseball and like to support the hometown games. Spur of the moment it is fun to go to the games. The drive is not far.
Great value for your money & baseball in its purist form....we suggest getting the $20 tix that included admission & if there enough people, limitless food, soda &2 beers in your VIP area. When we were there we were the ONLY people do we could get whatever we wanted from the concession stand. The announcer was fabulous & for what it is, Single A ball, it's a lot of fun.
The lines at the concession stands were long. (Missed some of the game) It would be an improvement to have a soda machine or more stands. I prefer Coke or Pepsi products. They handle Royal Crown. When I am at an outing, I want to enjoy the time I am there with a beverage I enjoy. I probably spend $6-$10 less on concessions when I can't get what I like. This is a fairly new stadium. I am very surprised, there aren't hand rails to the seating area, like a lot of other stadiums have. I use the hand rails and observe many others do too, at other stadiums.
The Riverhawks games are one of Rockford's most reasonable family outings but severly underutilized. We try to get to a few games every summer. The baseball is good and they do a good job making it a fun atmosphere.
It is fun to go to the Rockford Riverhawk baseball games. This is fun for the whole family.
