tailwinds distillery

I have a background with Army Aviation, tailwinds is all about aviation. The two brothers who own it are both pilots, their Father was a B-52 crew member. Their story is amazing, their distillery is awesome, and their products are great. It's locally owned and operated. They have tours of the Distillery, and their really friendly. Highly recommended.

Distillery and Brewery tours are always great. This is a nice little family owned distillery and they take the time to show you the process and give you samples of their hard work. I was very impressed.

With a Living Social deal, we couldn't pass up the offer. It was fun and interesting. The place is entirely family operated, and we really enjoyed talking with the owner/distiller.

We decided to take the Tailwinds Distillery tour because of an offer from LivingSocial. I had no idea that there was a micro distillery in our area. They are about a year and a half old and have branched out from rum to an agave spirit as well (think, but don’t say, tequila), and now have five offerings. The tour described their genesis, production history and philosophy, and the distillation process as well. I enjoyed the tour and sample tasting afterwards. They may be new at the game, but they are quite talented. I went home with a bottle of coffee rum. It is distinctly flavored and of limited production; they said their first run sold out in just three days. I would recommend this tour for anyone interested in rum, tequila, and/or distillation, or are in search of something different to do.
