Don't expect to score well the first time you are at this course. Your breath will be gone from the views of perhaps the second most beautiful course I have ever seen or played. This is truly an experience and is in Waterloo, Il. of all places.Make certain your Garmin has it's maps updated, because if you are not from the area, you will never find it. It is super close to downtown, so it is convienient. The facilities are great, they have a very good dining facility and other than being a really tough course it is in magnificent shape.
Best golf course in the bi-state region . You have to try their burgers. Best clubhouse food period.
Haven't been back since the sinkhole incident, but Annbriar is always a delight to play. They keep it up nicely and for most, it's as close as you'll get to a country club type of upkeep on the grounds without being a member. We always try to get out here a couple of times a year.
I rate Annbriar as one of the top three golf courses in the metropolitan St. Louis area. If you like being on a gorgeous course, impeccably maintained and a good challenge, but not ridiculous...treat yourself to a round at Annbriar. My only precaution is to make sure you go on a day when it is not cart path only. It is a bear to manage from the cart paths due to the rolling terrain and hole set-up.
-the staff is not friendly-front 9 is really boring-you get kicked off putting greens during the summer months-old worker in pro shop has an attitude
My wife and I were thrilled when we discovered this wonderful golf course! We had actually booked a week long stay and play at another course and were so disappointed that we left after the first round. Annbriar is well maintained and challenging for all skill levels. The clubhouse has the best food in town and the service to match! We will definitely be back and bring our friends! I am a 4 handicap, my wife is a 22 and we are avid folders.
The course was in really good shape, and the greens were rolling nicely. There were memorable holes on both the front & back nines which kept the round interesting. If you can get on for ~$50 with cart, it's well worth the green fee.
