For a public beach, the sand was nice, area clean, not too crowded, free parking and lifeguard on duty. There were many picnic tables and benches available to watch the boats come in out as well as a beach area by the playground which is ideal for children. I would visit again with the family.
There is a nice little park, free parking, and a beach to hang out. Need to be careful when swimming as the tide / current can be strong close to the inlet. The inlet provides easy access to the inter coastal waterway, but it can be tricky when the wind is blowing hard and/or the tide is running strong.
It is a lovely spot at the inlet and a good picture opportunity. I have often ventured over when in the area and just sat and watched the wave action, the birds and all of the people. it is a restful spot in which your mind relaxes. Good for meditation
Lived here in the 90's. Loved being close to everything. This Inlet is a beautiful place to sit and watch the large fishing boats go out for the day.Very peaceful and beautiful. Went there many times.Close to West Palm, about 25 minutes.
The Boynton Inlet and county park is a great place to hand out for the day, have a picnic, go fishing, or go for a swim.Open 24/7 at no charge, is South Florida at it's best.Easy access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal, lots of boat traffic through the channel, on the ocean, or on the Intercoastal, and sheltered picnic tables....lots of benches. You won't be disappointed.
Four of us who spend a lot of time on the water were looking for a fun place to visit and see nautical activity in Boynton Beach. The tide was running hard and fast and both pelicans and humans were doing their best to catch their dinner. We were hoping to see a boat shoot the inlet, but on this day it was too windy. If one wants to see South Florida boat handling skills first hand, this is the place to come. Just don't visit when the wind is strong and coming from the east. Bill B.
Two adjacent cement piers form an inlet from the ocean to the intercoastal waterway. Pleasant walk out to view the ocean and the boats making there way in and out of the intercoastal. While we were there we saw a manta ray, but my hope of seeing a manatee was disappointed. Ample free parking.
Visit Boynton Beach, Florida yearly & never fail to include a stop at the inlet; always interesting to see the activity of fishing, high speed boats tearing thru the tricky currents of the narrow inlet and the (almost) tame Pelicans.Recent upgrades in the facilities have made it a much nicer environment and it is always clean and patrolled.
Parking is the biggest problem; but not if you know how easy it is to park for free in the garage of the adjacent high-rise apartment building. Various sized boats & Skee-doos can be rented. The Sea Mist III sails twice daily for deep sea fishing. Of the two restaurants, I like Banana Boat more; it has both inside and outside seating.
went here in early evening-enjoyed ourselves. at that time there was no crowds and plenty of parking. great for watching boats. the beach seemed okay.
We're locals and love the inlet! Even if you don't have a boat, it's nice to watch the boats come in and out. It's clean, it's safe, and it's a great taste of our local life. Bring lunch and sit on the sea walls! Stay for the sunset!
I'm a boat captain and go through Boynton Inlet often... as much as I hate it, I have no choice. It is declared as one of the most dangerous inlets in Florida because of the current and sand bars. That being said, as I go through the inlet I see so many people enjoying their day out. You can sit along the sea walls and Getty's and watch the ocean do what it does best... Go in and out. As the song Dock of the Bay says... You can watch the ships(boats) Roll in and then watch them Roll away again. You might see some exciting things happen as boats get pulled toward the walls and rocks by the current. Take pictures of peoples faces as they fight mother nature and post them online. You can be entertained as boats pass each other in the narrow passage or suddenly stop moving as they ground on the sand bars on either side of the inlet. If you get bored with that, it is a great place to watch a sunrise... and sunset. The beach is great. It really is a nice place to spend a day.
We go here each week and some times more! It's such a beautiful place to see the Ocean, walk the beach or just have a picnic! It's so beautiful! They have showers and bathrooms! Always clean! Safe place to enjoy time with family or by yourself!! I love it! I'm you will too!!
My husband and I like to go down to the inlet to watch the boats, people fishing, pelicans trying to steal their catch. It's relaxing and it's part of what living in South Florida is all about.
Liked: lovely beach.Disliked: parking very expensive and for the whole day, we only wanted a few hours
