sunflower park

Sunflower Park is hidden away in the northeast part of Deland, just on the southern edge of Stetson University. A small gathering place for those in the know with a portico and a number of picnic tables and benches, it is a delightful and undiscovered gem. A beautiful garden with native Floridian plants is maintained by the Deland Garden Club. The surprise feature is a large pocket watch, the first installment of scenes from Alice in Wonderland with a promise of the four others sometime in the future. Cross the street to Buttercup Bakery for delicious desserts and coffee before venturing over to the park to enjoy them.
