Nice trails - parts of the trail is shaded while others are in the sun so don't forget sunscreen! The paths are wide and it is pet friendly. The only thing I don't like is that they don't have maps and I can't seem to find any maps online. Also, note that there is a $2 parking fee - not a bad price at all but make sure to bring some ones so you can put your payment in an envelope!

While the track around the lake is a fine place for a morning walk, the activities in the afternoons keep the over-crowded park full of soccer players, baseball teams and parents overlooking the activities. Parking is a lot harder to find most afternoons.

The trails were nice and wide for passing riders. The only thing I would suggest is if they could mark the trails. Other then that it was an great place.

This park is accessible off both Hwy 60 and Dover road in Dover, Fl. It is a no-frills park for sure. No water stations, and there is one port-a-potty in the parking area off of Dover rd. There are a few picnic tables there as well, but they are not covered, except by some oak trees and are in need of a good sanding and varnish. However, that being said, it is a great park to go to if you like to get away from the cememt and just be surrounded by green. The trails total around 7 miles long. They are wide open and are mainly grass or sand. Certain times of the summer, the grass may get a little long in between mowings, but not impassable. There is a small lake that can be accessed off of both 60 and Dover rd, but it is small, and so it is not really a part of your scenic view while doing the trails. I almost always see someone with a fishing pole walking to or from the lake. This park is not heavily used, I think in part because a lot of people really don't know it is even there. Good on the one hand because the trails do not get clogged with people and you have a chance to 'commune with nature'. But on the other hand, if it doesn't get well used, the county may decide to eventually sell the area for development if it is not used more. But personally, I have enjoyed this nature trail for years. When I use to have dogs, we were out there almost daily. I have ridden horses there and now bring my bike there on and off. And speaking of biking, this trail would probably be considered the 'bunny slopes' to die hard bikers who like challenging trails to ride. The trails here do go up and down, but the terrain is fairly flat with a few exceptions of about 3 hills and some sandy areas. The park is more heavily used on weekends and holidays. But even on the weekdays, I seem to always pass a few equestrian riders. Both parking areas are large and easy to get horse trailers in and out of. The Dover Rd side does have some areas if you need to tie up your horse and they do have potable water available too. A few shaded areas are more heavily infested with mosquitos in the hot summer. All in all, I would recommend this park to anyone in the East side of Hillsborough County area if they like to do activites in nature.
