Lars Anderson provides a truly unique experience for the experienced and newbie kayaker alike. it;s not white water but he'll take you to little known coves and out of the way spots. He is sort of a cross between an Indian guide and Jimmy Buffet. From someone who hates the guided tour, all I can say is you never feel like you're on a guided tour. Lars just takes small groups out for a paddle and keeps you from getting lost in out in the marshes and creeks and knows a huge amount about the Florida waterways.Seriously, do not miss it!

We stopped in on our way through to go paddle boarding at high springs and had a wonderful meal! We had awesome service and the fact that we both work in the industry makes us quite picky! This place was great and we are defiantly going to stop back though again!

We had originally planned a trip to Ichetucknee river and found it packed. We decided to drive back and check out this place and found a hidden gem in this town! The cost was nearly the same as renting tube then paying to get in the state park we got to do the whole section for 6 hours of the Santa Fe river seeing all the sights. Billion turtles, small alligators (very afraid of people) fish galore, manatees, and just the most beautiful sprints to swim in. We enjoyed every moment of our day on the river with this companies equipment. They filled us in on some secret places that made us feel like the only people there. You pass by plenty of places to get out and swim. You will love this I promise this is a do not miss if you love nature and want the best bang for your buck! Thank you the the lady that runs it we had a great day!

Our group has used this kayak outfitter for the annual Memorial Weekend trip down the Santa Fe for several years. Their new downtown High Springs location is an improvement with more parking and, when you return from a long day on the River, you can walk to several restaurants across the street. Only problem is they still only have one tiny bathroom, and we all need to change clothes before we go to a restaurant. Overall these folks are reliable and on-time with the pick up at the end of the day. They're also good at making sure each person has a kayak that suits their heigth. Won't use anyone else.

Did the 9-mile trip with part of a large group. They had the boats and equipment ready for us once our entire party arrived and had us to the drop & in the water 15 minutes later. Most of the journey is rather serene and they pick up crew was right on time to bring us back to our location very quickly. I would definitely bring the family back if we are in the area again in the future.

We met up with Adventure Outpost in Crystal River and did a kayak trip around Kings Bay. We saw tons on manatees and Lars was very knowledgeable about the area, ecology, etc. I've actually done a few trips with this company. They are very helpful, and you can do their guided tours all over central Florida, or go by yourself, and they will drop you off and pick you back up. On the guided tours, they can acommodate any skill level. They are great and I highly recommend them.

We loved it! You can pick from many different locations to get in the river and out. Lars knows a ton about the area and can answer all your questions. The price is cheap and he drives you to the river and gets you out. I would do it again!

We brought our own canoe to paddle down the Santa Fe river, and paid these guys to pick us up and take us (and canoe) back to where the car was parked.Staff was extremely helpful and gave us multiple tips (where to put in/length of trip/etc.) and a really nice map!

At Adventure Outpost one can take a self guide or a guided tour and be amazed by Lars Anderson with his extensive knowledge of nature and history of Florida. We found this outfit by accident and loved our first day self guided so much that we cancelled plans and returned the next day for a guided tour to tap Lar's fountain of facts. such an easy going person, he makes everyone of any age feel welcome. This is a must for anyone local or visitor. His talk on the formation and river shed and conservation... made us appreciate and understand what we were seeing.. we found it easy to get to from Gainesville off 75 or 441.

Talk with Lars about his favorite rivers for canoeing. We canoed on Silver River, around Hontoon Island and on the Panasoff Lake to the Withlacoochee River. It was worth the money to hire Lars as our private guide. We learned so much about the wildlife, history, geology and people of the area. You can also kayak. We only did canoeing. When canoeing on the rivers/lakes you bring your own lunch/snack/water and bathrooms are along the water's edge.
