Save your money for a place that respects your beliefs and doesn't try and shove their agenda down your throat

Downtown Lake Worth is not spectacular. It is a typical American country side town with shopping options and a few restaurants and small hotels.

Attended the beautiful street art festival unlike any other that we have seen in Southern Florida. this was our 4th year and every year gives more attention hot the beauty and skills and adaptive mess of the artists. Some work as teams while others sit in the middle of the street and create . if you haven't been to Lake Worth in what must be the last weekend in February, put this on your 2016 TO DO LIST....parking at the First Baptist Church off the Main Street cost $5 and is supporting church initiatives..land makes one feel so good to help a cause.Bring an umbrella as we had rain in the past two years!,But the artisist carried on!

Heard it was artsy town on beach. They are promoting themselves that but either they are struggling to get to that end or they are just wishful thinkers. MaIn street short and slightly better rural America, but a block off cramped poorly taken care of buildings and lots of closed store fronts. They have some nicely done brochures but the reality didn't live up!

My wife and I go to this festival every year and we love it. It is truly amazing how these artist create these art works on the street. This is a must see festival if your in south florida in February. The street art festival seems like it gets bigger and better every year. Their are plenty of vendors to eat and drink from.

There was a street painting festival this weekend and it was lovely. Even better they coordinated with SFTA/tri rail to help with transportation. The art is a living document aka constantly changing.

Downtown Lake Worth consists of two main streets: Lake and Lucerne. One runs east to the beach, the other runs west to the interior. Both streets are lined wi one of a kind shops and restaurants. There is also a lively bar and live music scene in e evenings. Studio 205 at 600 Lake is owned and operated by Andy Amoroso who is a mine of local information. The store itself is worth the visit. In addition to selling newspapers and magazines, cards and original gifts, there is also a juice bar. On Saturday mornings there is a fabulous farmer's market run by Peter Robinson and Carey on the corner of the Lake Worth Bridge and South Ocean Boulevard, right on the intercostal waterway. There are fruit and vegetable vendors, flower vendors, orchid vendors, bakeries, Argentinian empanadas, fresh farm eggs, original gifts, etc. well worth a visit. Across the road from the market is the renovated Casino overlooking the pier. THe casino houses restaurants, gift shops and the incredible ice cream/chocolate store Kilwin's. They also make a decent coffee. On the pier is Benny's on the Beach. Great food and drinks in a unique setting.

This smallish downtown is very easy to shop at with ample parking. The way it is set up with parking behind the stores , it causes less hassle that is found in most downtowns. There are so rather swanky stores here as well as some eclectic omes. The interesting thing is that the parking is FREE. I like it that you can have a good time here and not be taken as some of the downowns of neighboring towns have.

Never a dull moment. People watching haven. Plenty of resturants and shopping to do. Antiques, local color and getting better every year

There is always so much to do downtown. I used to live here and now that I only come for visits, I always have to come back for the great shopping at Bali,.Trinkets and Treasurers, John A. Rooney and all of the other charming stores where you can find hidden treasurers at great prices! I don't like to give away my "trade secrets" but this is one fun place to spend a few (or more) hours shopping or having an ice-cream at Kilwin's (or fudge, if you prefer). Great places to eat right on the Avenues or just a car ride away. It's a bit of a walk over the bridge to the pier so it's convenient for a morning or afternoon at the beach...and don't forget the Farmers' Market every Saturday during season!!!

I love Downtown lake worth. You don't need to pay to park. That in itself is GREAT. It is casual, flip flop attire. No need to impress anyone. Lots of local business and restaurants. Love it. The shops are neat too.

For years we would head to Lake Avenue to eat, walk and enjoy the area. There are still some good restaurants, but many businesses have closed and stores are empty, not a good sign. The Lake Worth Playhouse is still open, but the Bamboo Room, which was an interesting music venue is closed. There are some enents that draw people, especially the Street Painting Festival in February. However, overall, there is not much to draw people to this area now.

While Lake Worth and downtown Lake Worth have had their issues (what city/town doesn't??), as someone who has lived here 11 years, I can tell you that many of the problems have been overcome, and the downtown area is headed for even more improvement. I LOVE our downtown area, where I live, and I am not an "addict" and I do not have 1 tattoo nor colored hair (as suggested by a reviewer here.) This is a great, diverse, accepting community, and while gentrification is increasing, I still find us much more charming than the high end, over-priced Wasp haven that is downtown Delray. We have many mom & pop places and I do hope that continued gentrification does not take away this aspect of our downtown area, it's what makes it unique. I AM enthusiastic that Delray's "Sundy House" owners have purchased our historic Gulfstream Hotel, and have major renovation plans that are only going to be a plus to our Lake Avenue. As it stands right now, our downtown area is not much different than Key West was before over gentrification turned that into a "Fast Buck Freddies" generic wasteland that has almost completely destroyed that great, charming, history filled little island, and I'm hoping that doesn't happen here. We are a fun, funky, friendly little "Mayberry" with a twist, with many charming houses, cottages, buildings, businesses, and people, as well as a great indie movie theater and our wonderful historic "Lake Worth Playhouse", and I, like many, love it here and intend to be supportive of its continued improvement..(but, not TOO much..Lol.) I suggest "Midwest Family" stick to white bread Branson/Disneyesque areas and leave our town to us.

The beach area of Lake Worth is quite nice, but the downtown has some issues. There are a few vacant storefronts, and a block or two away things can go downhill pretty fast. There are several fairly good restaurants and a few shops of interest. The pretty little park in the center seems to be a gathering spot for the homeless.

Nice shops and close to the beach. Starbucks and Kilwins chocolate shop are right next door to each other. So convenient!!!
